I Cannot Freaking Believe That the Media Would Do This!
Media gets a tip to come see something happen, doesn't warn military, just sits and watches as roadside bomb goes off under convoy.

What kind of freaking vultures are these people???!!! What I wouldn't give to know who it was!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

COALITION SOLDIERS QUESTION NEWS MEDIA FOLLOWING ROADSIDE BOMB

MOSUL, Iraq - Coalition soldiers questioned two news media cameramen and a reporter after a roadside bomb exploded near a Coalition convoy two kilometers north of Mosul June 3.

The media, who were at the scene prior to the attack, told soldiers at the scene they had received a tip to be at that location prior to the attack and they had witnessed the explosion.

There was minimal damage to a Coalition vehicle, a cracked windshield, and no serious injuries.

3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division soldiers requested the media accompany them to a base camp in Mosul to answer questions as witnesses to the incident. The news media representatives left the base camp in the mid afternoon.

3. I question their question.
Who was the media? American? What organization did they represent?

I find this hard to believe...they simply want the journalists out of the way so they can pillage without being accountable.

4. What was the media outfit exactly?
The Pentagon has been accusing Al-Jazeera of having "advance knowledge" of attacks for months now... if memory serves, they've even held Al-Jazeera reporters and cameramen at Camp Bocca.

5. We think alike Jen!
I think this is just the Pentagoons trying to get the people with cameras out of there. They don't like the "atrocities" getting to the media. Rummy banned soldiers from having cameras, and now if they get the media out. Well, hell! They can do anything they want to.

6. And you should not cover it with "the Media" statement. It was
probably a reporter (if he existed, and I say he because it is Iraq) with a camera. I think they forget that "the Media" is willing, most of the time, to put out whatever the US wants and nothing more.

8. There's real American Media there? Then did that happen?
There's no real press allowed in Iraq...it mostly guerilla news or news with "minders"
