Why Does Reagan Rate A State Funeral?
He was not a sitting president. None of the otherex-Presidents were given one.

1. I believe all are eligible
Not all take up the offer, though.

A former president is just as much a president as the current one in the rulebook.

2. All former presidents are eligible
Ike had one IIRC. Nixon's family chose not to. LBJ did, IIRC.

4. Details per my local paper (he's to be buried here)
"Reagan's body was expected to be taken to his presidential library and museum in Simi Valley, Calif., and then flown to Washington to lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda. His funeral was expected to be at the National Cathedral, an event likely to draw world leaders. The body was to be returned to California for a sunset burial at his library."

7. Hmmm, wonder if he gets frequent flyer miles?
I can think of nothing more disgusting than dragging the dead all over the country to be put on display to further the political agenda of the Reich wing.

Why don't they just put him on the back of a fire truck and hit every state so the thumpers and mouth breathers can show how patriotic they are?

Reagan screwed the unions, the poor, the military, was a criminal who barely escaped with his legacy by humping over those countries he didn't believe were Democratic enough in South America, supported Iraq and Iran hoping thye would kill each other off, and left the country in such a financial hole it took until 1997 to balance the budget.

Yeah, may he rest in peace.

My ass.

May those he caused to die be there to greet him on his trip to Hell.

5. It might be a way to demonstrate how unified the country is now
under the neo-con overseer.
