Just to clear up any confusion, put the euthanasia angle aside for the sake of argument.

9. I'm very sad that so many victims of Reagonomics did never...

reach his age and died so early.
Reagan wasn't in power anymore and not harming other people's live anymore, so I simply do not care.
I'm angry that I even know that he's dead. Many more people died today who did better things than Reagan ever did.

Because it's really a non-issue. He has been out of power and out of the spotlight for a long time now. I'm fully aware of how his administration's policies continue to affect us, but Reagan himself hasn't had anything to do with that for more than a decade.

Of course, I will avoid watching the news just because of the inevitable annoying, phony, sentimental "reverence."

I think my energy is better spent contributing to Bushwah's defeat.

26. I'm never happy when anyone dies. Reagan was not as bad as Bush and

had not done anyone any harm for years. I admit I'd be "relieved" if Bush were to die, however.

I feel bad for Reagan's son Ron- who is a great liberal. I think his son Patti was also a liberal. And I also have a bit more respect for Nancy - she gave Bush a good asswhupping a few weeks ago.

I have the feeling that she is going to speak out even more not that her husband is dead. She will now have the time to be more active about the stem-cell issue.

I would probably be inclined to feel more glad if (1) Reagan had died as a direct consequence of the things he'd done and (2) he'd been actively wreaking havoc at the time of his death.

Neither was the case here. He was a very old man who died of very natural causes and who had not been a participant in current affairs for the last decade.

Far more so than anything else, I'm glad it happened now and not closer to the election.

I absolutely do not pretend to know how Nancy, Patti and Ron Jr. are feeling or what they're thinking, but from what I've heard about Alzheimer's in general, it would seem to me like Ronnie was already effectively dead to them quite some time ago.

The only downside is that Congress is going to name everything in the US Ronald Reagan whatever, but they overplay everything so that's probably an electoral plus. (There are few things without existing names so every change pisses off somebody)
