My Response to the Death of Reagan: Ronald Reagan's Painful Legacy...
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 02:27 AM by JCMach1
ENJOY... I AM ALREADY SICK OF THE LOVEFEST ON THE NETWORKS AND I ONLY WATCHED A FEW MINUTES...

======================================================
It's important at times like these to not become confused. Ronald Reagan is dead. Don't be confused by the frail, sickly man with Alzheimer's that we have known since 1994. We offer this obituary as a laundry list of Reagan's evils. The great 'actor' had many and God knows you won't be hearing about them in the mainstream press. Here are the top 10:

1. CENTRAL AMERICAN POLICY

-In the name of rooting out Communism, the United States embarked on a policy of war crimes and genocide in the region. In Guatemala alone, tens of thousands of people were disappeared by their American directed government. It was the same for El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras. Today, many of the important people involved in these crimes are working for the George W. Bush administration.

2. MORTGAGING AMERICA'S FUTURE

-It wasn't wartime, but Reagan managed to more than triple the U.S. national debt during his time in office. At the same time, he left virtually no social program untouched. This left payments on the national debt the largest single item in the budget and has left America with a legacy that will last for hundreds of years.

3. DEINSTITUTIONALIZATION OF THE MENTALLY ILL

-Most care facilities (hospitals) for the mentally ill closed under the Reagan administration. This left "50,000 homeless mentally ill" on the streets in California alone. Across the country, the costs have been catastrophic...

1. The mentally ill ended up
in prison instead of a hospital where they could get proper care.

2. Thank you, Jerald.
I, too, absolutely refuse to watch any of the "lovefest," the "Reagasm." This and other reminders of Reagan's TRUE legacy need to be spread far and wide.

Be careful, though. There are folks who say that even breaking out this list will "make us no better than the Freepers," is "classless," and that we are "morons" for telling the TRUTH, etc, etc. With that said, don't hold back, because some people just can't handle the TRUTH. Peace.

3. Watched some of the History Channel . . . .
and it actually did go into some of his latter day loss of popularity, and his involvement in the guns for Iran/ money for the Contra thugscum. It seems to me they also mentioned, though briefly, that the deficit tripled during his reign. His support of Salvadoran death squads also makes him directly responsible for the murder of Archbishop Romero. Is supporting death squads and thugs who murder thousands of Central Americans a 'Pro-Life' activity? How about capital punishment?

11. Yeah and the landslide majority voted for him... twice.
It's funny all the comments about Regan - I agree, but in this democracy the overwhelming majority of people voted for what they saw - not once but twice.

We deserved what we got because of that, and I have a hard time speaking criticism of Regan without speaking criticism of the American people who voted for him once, and then voted for him again when they could have known better.

13. That's absurd.
Bush didn't win. There is no comparison. The majority of people voted for Al Gore, and then Bush was selected by the Supreme Court.

14. but remember, he was nothing but the pawn of bush senior. NOTHING more
than his lil tool. When he was lucid enough to act and think on his own, bush smacked him back to being pinnochio boy puppet man.
