Oh, the Irony! I have just been approached by e-mail to...
do an immediate broadcast about the end of the Reagan era. The irony is that I spent most of my day and evening on DU last night reading most of the posts (and contributing my own thoughts). I have finished writing the text, and am waiting for the mod. from the studio to let me know when he is ready. I will publish the website as soon as I have the recording finished. Should be fun, I am using Antony's eulogy of Caesar as the basis, along with Octavian's and Antony's comments over the body of Marcus Brutus (from Act V).

2. I'm just waiting for the callback. They already have the text...
and I really really tried to be more moderate than I was last night.

3. Your foundation sounds excellent
Great choice of topic, I imagine you get the point, in that context, delivered, layered in enough subtlety. I'll look forward to the end piece! :thumbups:

4. I tried to be subtle, but not too subtle...
After it has been recorded, I will probably post the text.

5. An actor who read his scripts with actor's expertise
He was produced, promoted and protected as an actor.

He had Alzhimers in 1984 per study by U of Minnesoso Geriatrics Dept.

He spoke thousands of times on same points--Communism is evil and Big Govt is bad. Yet--he increased government by increasing spending by 80%--debt by 187%-deficits by 110%. He increased California budget by 112%. That is no Conservative. He was not conversant on other subjects. Jokes and stories his expertise.

Got by with actor's skill at reading teleprompters.

Check his record vs Clinton

Comparing Democrat’s hero-CLINTON—versus Republican’s hero--REAGAN

2.GDP---grew by 57% more under Clinton.

6. I made some allusions about his lack of independent thought...
in the text I submitted to the mod. That is a very revealing summary of most of what Reagan didn't do, and furthermore, what he really didn't much care about.

7. the coming election is much like the "friends romans countrymen" scene
will the masses(voters) choose to fully embrace a new form of Empire?
or try to preserve what little democracy is left...

8. That is precisely what the spot is focused on...
I think I managed to take some appropriate shots at * while I was at it. I used his statement from the Whitehouse.gov website to skewer him with his own words. No better time than the present, I say. In the spot, * ends up playing the character of Marcus Brutus, 'the honourable man'.
