Bill Clinton on Book TV ~ he gave strong reassurance that everything
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 01:25 PM by jean
will be okay.

If you can catch a replay of Bill Clinton's appearance on Book TV (he was on Thursday, June 3) do so!

He was excellent, of course, but more than anything, strong and reassuring. I hope we can have access to a transcript. His assessment of current events played against the backdrop of history (all covered in My Life) will give you hope and strength to get through these next months.

2. I watched quite a bit of the replay on c-span 2 earlier
It was very interesting that he put things in the context of different times in history. I was struck by my sense of shock of how much I miss having an intelligent President who can speak coherently on such a wide range of topics.

I honestly felt like crying.

3. I like Bill Clinton, but one thing he said...
He said Bush is doing exactly what he said he would do. That's just not true. Bush is doing pretty much the opposite of what he promised. Why oh why did Bill have to say that?

4. That's what I miss most about Bill Clinton, he was strong and reassuring
I remember vividly on 9/11 wishing he were president. We needed a leader who could reassure the nation then--what we had was a coward flitting around in the sky thinking about his ass and his ass only.

5. I watched him too
and was delighted as always when it comes to Bill.

If he can feel so hopeful, I guess I should too. But I simply don't. The parallel times in history he cited were vivid but all I could think was while what he said was very true, there was no prior, comparable 24/7 echo chamber of talk radio and cable TV that aided and abetted the reich side.
