The only real mistake is that Nixon and Reagan are both Californians and you cannot put two Californians on the ticket.

2. He would be just another old ex-president-----
The mystique came from dying young and dying in a dramatic way.

I voted for him, both for congress and for president and was in The Boston Garden in November of 1960 when he arrived home to Boston to vote in the election the next day.

It was a wild and crazy night and I'll never forget it.

3. Actually the mysteries of the timeline are revealed by the Chrononauts
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 04:37 PM by wuushew

The greatest good come by Raygun's assassination and by John Lennon living. This prevents the Challenger disaster, Waco and the drug war among other things.

4. Come on? Does anyone believe that: LBJ would have chosen RFK?
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 04:11 PM by Bombtrack
What would have been the need of that? After 8 Years of JFK I doubt that either Massachusetts or New York would have been as hard for LBJ to carry as most other places, and we all know the Kennedy's and Johnson did not get along at all. RFK was thrust into his politician role because of JFK's assassination. I don't think he would have seeked national elected office had it not been for it when both Jack and Ted were more natural, or should I say they emjoyed it more than him.

5. I'd trade 20 years of a Republican Presidency for 9/11 back.

6. Come on.
No 9/11, No President George W. Bush. Think about what it would be like now. Better I think.

9. I thought that was fairly lame
The same names popping up in that reality as in ours, over and over again? Seems unlikely. For instance, would JFK have had the same influence on Bill Clinton, had he lived? And a Nixon-Reagan ticket? No way. Nixon was counting on carrying his home state, they wouldn't just voluntarily give it up like that. Plus I doubt that Nixon would ever have chosen Reagan as a running mate--too many differences in style.

Is it a "better" history than ours? Yes, of course. No Chimp. No 9/11 (although with Reagan as President, I think it still would have happened, or something like it). John Lennon still lives. Hell yes.
