GOP poll on gay marriage
A friend told me to send this around though thinking on it, why should I care what the GOP thinks? If they were realy as moral as they say, wouldn't they know if they are in th right or not?

Oh well

"The GOP is running a poll on Sen. Bill Frist's amendment banning gay
marriage. Please take a minute to vote, our voices need to be heard. Please vote by
clicking on:

<http://www.gopusa.com/>

Also forward to everyone you can."

7. LOL, but we all know that most of them can't read
The poll wording is a bit misleading for the pug who doesn't read. Those who want to vote no for against gay marriages, and place a 'no' vote end up voting for gay marriages! In this poll, Frist wants them to vote yes. ROFL

The question:
"Sen. Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) said that he supported an amendment to the Constitution that would ban any marriage in the United States except a union of a man and a woman. Would you support such an amendment?"

voting yes is for against gay marriages
voting no is for gay marriages.

Like a good horror film, even if it has what you expect, the GOP is good at making my skin crawl. :+

8. Anyone else surprised by this?
Headline on their page:

"White House Admits Use of Bogus Intel"

Whoa. Without flowery language or any kind of obvious defense.

Is that drip becoming a splash?

11. The best result for us is a 50/50 split

We do want them to fight each other as much as possible and make it a bitter wedge, right?

14. Equal rights for homosexuals is a huge wedge issue among republicans.
The reich wing fundamentalists will abandon Bush if he shows any support for gay marriage in any form. Bush can't win in 2004 without the support of the reich wing fundamentalists. And if he sucks up to them, he will alienate some moderate republicans and independents.

Democrats need to hammer on the fact that Cheney supports civil unions for gays and demand that Bush state his opinion on the question.

13. just keep in mind...
even Republicans who disapprove of same-sex marriage can still be extremely hesitant about amending the Constitution...for any reason.

16. You're correct. Any TRVE conservative (and there really are some)
Edited on Thu Jul-10-03 07:19 PM by karlschneider
would be in favor of keeping the government out of people's private lives. Hell, it's one of their time-honored tenets. The loudmouth bigots who get the most notice are the 'squeaky wheels' that get the grease from the neo-cons running the show, for the nonce.

Edit: I forgot to proofread my post to see if I any words out.
