Besides possessing an unconstitutional mindset capable of producing absurdities of this sort, Ed Meese was involved in Iran-Contra up to his eyeballs. IMO, he should have been bunking with Ollie North in Leavenworth.

Apparently, the Patriot Act has emboldened Meese, as evidenced by this statement on the Today Show on 9/30/03: 'Librarians are more interested in pushing pornography on kids than fighting terrorism!' This tirade was prompted by ACLU representative Nadine Strossen's concerns over library confidentiality.
