Are you going to watch any of Reagan's state funeral?
If so, why?

I'm going to watch at least some, just because I've never seen one before.

1. I have a lot of DVDs and will be catching up on my
viewing of them and reading of the various anti Bush books.

If I gave that funeral any time it would be time I would never get back. I have better things to do with it.

2. I saw JFK's on television.
Even if I were not going to be at work Friday, no way I'd watch this.

Reagan is gone. I only have to endure the right wing adulation for a few more weeks. Rest in peace Ron.

7. I think I'll watch my cat take dumps instead...
at least that's less likely to make me puke than watching any kind of ceremony for reagan... his body should be burnt in a pit and then pissed on... once for every dollar of debt he put this country into.

8. Dim Son's speaking at it?
I'm watching, either for pure entertainment value or to spit and sputter at the television--depends on how well he pulls off the speech.

12. Saw JFK's--been there, done that and there is no way they
can make this one as hard hitting and dramatic. Maybe they can have the Bush twins in little blue coats and one of them salute when the coffin goes by---that is if she can stand up that long.

19. That was the only one I would ever watch
The JFK is the end all be all of memorials. It cannot be exceeded in stature, solemnity or grace. I actually am surprised that Nancy is permitting this sham as the feelings between the Reagan's and Bush's are well known and not of the warm, fuzzy type. GWB will use this as an excuse to blunder through yet another attempt at public speaking and I become hideously embarassed for this country when he opens his mouth.

13. After watching Kennedy's, there is nothing that can compare.
No I have work that I have to do so I can educate others about our deteriorating health care system, thanks a lot to Reagan and company, and how we can undo the harm the neo-cons set in motion.

Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 09:09 PM by hatrack
In two words, hell no!

Some of the following activities would be time better spent:

1. Catching up on household finances with Quicken.

2. Shredding old credit card and ATM receipts.

3. Cleaning bookshelvesm taking paperbacks to the library.

4. Removing annoying bellybutton lint.

5. Washing and drying windows; washing/waxing car.

6. Running defrag and error scan programs on computer

7. Finally learning home canning and pickling!

8. Brewing a batch of beer.

9. Snipping and trimming toenails.

10. When in doubt, dust!!

21. Only a very few moments
I'm not going to go for the whole day experience, like I did with Nixon. That funeral truly felt like the end of an era. We buried a lot of demons with him.

But with Reagan, in many ways he's still with us.

but then I don't watch much TV, period.

I MIGHT read the transcript of Baby Chucklenuts' speech later, just to laugh and/or wince at his screw ups. But that's a big might.
