Kind of funny that while some of us were worried that Reagan's death would receive wall to wall coverage by the mainstream press and drown out other MORE IMPORTANT stories, we forge right ahead and do the very same thing right here, in our own 'home'.

The dude hasn't been president for 16 years, and has barely been alive for the last ten. And, we should be damned grateful he didn't have the indecent timing to croak in October and generate a massive sympathy vote for *.

So enjoy your dance on Ronnie's grave; hoot and shout the night out. But...

Take some aspirin, and drink plenty of water. When your hangover lifts, y'all are gonna be called upon to once again do the work we need to unseat King Chimp. The WH is hoping that this story is gonna put a 'hood' over the heads of all the other stories and investigations out there right now. And the 'Media' will be ever so willing to go along with that plan. "Oooo... A Presidential Funeral! What kind of ratings should we anticipate?"

The only people who can hold the media's feet to the fire are people like us, right here. We have work to do... still!!!

Well, I'm not dancing...but had a full day of watching anything BUT the canonizing of Sir Ronnie. When news broke about this (seen first here for me on DU at about 3 am), I said I'd not be watching TV news for about a week. But honestly, it's plastered all over just about everything. Oh, well. This too shall pass I suppose.

My husband had the best line for all of it though. He had me laughing so hard at dinner my meal almost came through my nose! They played a clip of Reagan's Chief of Staff stating, "I'm sure he's in a better place now." Husband says..."What, Hell is a better place than California?" (STILL ROFLMAO!!!!)
