6. Surprised
It was on ABC network evening news also.

I'm surprised to see it anywhere in the corporate media, the rest of the whores are just repeating the Administration spin.

11. I'll be honest...I am.
After reading about the missile plot and then seeing the many responses on DU that this whole thing was staged, I was a little annoyed at how quickly some people become conspiracy theorists here. Unfortunately for the country, it's becoming more and more obvious to me that they are entirely justified in doing so.

32. Ha! Who's the whackjob now?
:) I kid, of course. DU is remarkably tolerant to those of us who sometimes have our tinfoil hats screwed on too tight.

But, I'm afraid, there's going to have to be a Robb's Third Rule: "Begin by assuming this administration and its media are lying."

quick refresher:

Robb's Second Rule: "Begin by assuming most people are idiots."

Robb's First Rule: "Ain't nothing so good, a little bacon won't make it better."

33. Ah...up steps the 'conspiracy theorist' debunkers...
- It's funny that when any group of free people start specutlating about what's really going on in their government...someone shows up to remind them that they shouldn't 'theorize' or extrapolate from the available information.

3. Taking bets for how many people won't hear this...
It's great to make a big pronouncement like

MISSILE! NEWARK NEW JERSEY!

and then quietly follow that with

*actually, we're just kidding*

The first, louder news is what sticks in the head unless there is equal coverage of the second news.

It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

That's right, it's the Carlyle group.

18. I humbly disagree
Northrop Grumman is a publicly traded company. Carlyle may have bought one of the businesses during Northrop's acquisition of TRW, but that's about it; they may also have some shares of the parent, but they certainly don't "own" Northrop.

And IMHO anti-missile systems for commercial aircraft might not be a bad idea.

24. Agree! It was for Tony. I watched BBC tonight about Hutton Inquiry....and
said....this looks like Bush needs to cover Tony's butt, soon. And, I knew why the story about the missles and the British halting flights into Rihayd was big news. They've gotta keep those Terrorist Alerts and hype fear into both US and GB. They will go down together before they go down alone. They are like conjoined twins Blair/Bush.

26. Huh?
I just go through reading the Gaurdian and my take on it is that things are going very badly for the BBC, and surprising well for Tony Blair.

Infact, here is a link of some of the most recent action:

http://politics.guardian.co.uk/kelly/story/0,13747,1018241,00.html

Why would Bush need to cover for Blair now? Perhaps he will at some point, but the Hutton inquiry does not seem to be going to well for the BBC at this time.

"I would have hoped the United States is thwarting real terrorism and not something manufactured because here all they're doing is stopping something they created," said Lefcourt.

Government officials said the case will show that Lakhani went along with the scheme willingly and was not entrapped. But the question remains whether any of this would have happened if the government had not set it up.

"Stopping something they created"????????Ohhhhh, sheeeeet. Sometimes U gotta just laugh!! Is you learnin' yet?

Next ?:
Is it OK to stage these kind of stings if national security (read: Bush approval ratings) are at stake??
