Bush's Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides (CapitolHillBlue.com)
I've recently heard some things about CapitolHillBlue.com that have called the site's credibility into question, so make whatever you will of this article. But Lordy, I really hope that the following article on their site is accurate.

http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/printer_4636.shtml

Sample paragraphs:

President George W. Bush’s increasingly erratic behavior and wide mood swings has the halls of the West Wing buzzing lately as aides privately express growing concern over their leader’s state of mind.

Worried White House aides paint a portrait of a man on the edge, increasingly wary of those who disagree with him and paranoid of a public that no longer trusts his policies in Iraq or at home.

In interviews with a number of White House staffers who were willing to talk off the record, a picture of an administration under siege has emerged, led by a man who declares his decisions to be “God’s will” and then tells aides to “fuck over” anyone they consider to be an opponent of the administration.

Aides say the President gets “hung up on minor details,” micromanaging to the extreme while ignoring the bigger picture. He will spend hours personally reviewing and approving every attack ad against his Democratic opponent and then kiss off a meeting on economic issues.

2. The Madness of King George
He can't handle the job, pure and simple. If he had the media problems and a hostile Congress impeaching him, like Clinton did, can you imagine how he'd be handling things?

He's headed for a nervous breakdown.....

4. site not credible? anyone give details?
The article sounds like it was written specifically to parallel what was heard during Nixon's end.
Now i read in this main post above, that some doubt exists as to the site.

anyone amplify the site's reliability problems? Or a source corroborating this WHOUSE story?

{"tough editor"} oscar.

5. PS Guliani takes over as canditate, wins 60:40
Let us not celebrate too soon: if bush flips, the R is free to put up a more popular guy, like Gulliani.
We need bush merely to get wobbly, not flip totally. We need the moron as their candidate. Cheney already is our ideal opponent, with his eternal sneer. Keep Condoliza too, with her eternal scowl.

10. here's the DU thread that I'm referring to
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=599147

It's a HUGE thread and you'll have to scroll way down a bit to read the posts which called CHB's reliability into question

It contained a link to a CapitolHillBlue story in which the editor acknowledged that one of his sources had been an unreliable one who pulled a fast one on him, and he apologized to his readers for it.

http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_2529.shtml

...so, make what you will of both of the links I've furnished above.

Too bad, because I kind of like CHB in general, and I'm especially itching to know if this story is true.

7. If this is true, then it could get a whole new kind of ugly.
Is there any chance that this guy simply will not go?

I put no faith in the military doing anything --- it would take the sort of spirit that the founders had --- the spirit to break conventional bounds and to break through conventional thinking. In practise, this is a damn hard thing to find, particularly in an organization notable for regimented thinking.

Nixon was never anything like this scary. Besides in those days there were actually responsible, thoughtful, decent republican members of congress. Their like is not to be found today. The congressional rethugs will follow * no matter where he leads. Some will follow out of feeling and some out of fear --- but they will all follow.

I sure hope that this story is wrong, although it fits what I know of the guy. He may not be clinically insane, but he acts with an assurance that only the insane can achieve.
