Does anyone know history, or are we the dumbest people in the world
The will be honoring Reagan all week, Friday will be a national day of mourning, the stock market is considering closing down, the talking heads and wall street are talking about how great he was. How soon they forget:

1. Iran/Contra, should have been impeached for this one
2. S&L failure
3. Largest deficiet
4. Increased the size of government to record levels
5. Responsible for getting 400 Marines killed in Lebanon
6. Ignored aids, and did everything to hinder progress
7. Ignored civil rights, did not believe it existed
8. Appointed Scalia

History is getting rewritten before our very eyes.

This is why I cannot watch the "mainstream" news anymore for more than a few minutes.

The whole thing makes me want to puke!

1. Another element of the Legacy of St. Ronnie...
Ignorance is a virtue.

So yes, we are the dumbest people on Earth.

7. Especially because WE DO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY not to be
stupid. Other people cannot avoid it for a multitude of reasons (repression, illiteracy, porverty, religion control, etc.) but Americans do not have an excuse.

3. I don't think
that Americans are the dumbest people on the planet.

We are definitely the least curious!

4. Didn't you get the memo? Ignorance is Strength!
Reagan was the best president ever.
Reagan was always the best president ever.
Reagan was never not the best president ever.

...don't make me send you to Room 101.

5. This is when we considered...
we still had a 2 party system,we thought things were done for the good of the country not for the cronies, and we thought repukes had morals and scruples. We tended to pity the mental deficient.
WHY ARE WE DOING IT AGAIN?

6. He did bring Alzheimer's to the front
and he appointed the first woman to the supreme court

He also said that he admired FDR, but his "supporters" were trying to say all the time that he was going to turn back the New Deal

12. He cut funding for Alzheimer's research!!!
Having Alzheimer's isn't bring it to the front. That jackass hurt himself in the end, fittingly, with his meanness and stupidity.

10. TV has made mush out of american brains-it caused many of us to have ADD
At least, ADD in the sense that we don't pay enough attention to the details about what is happening. I know a lot of swing voter types who don't understand why the Iran-contra thing was so bad. They only paid attention to sound bite news coverage and never sought any information of more substance.
