Enron Tapes -- "Yeah, Grandma Millie, man"
Has everyone seen this? I didn't catch it until just this morning but I was afraid maybe I was out of the loop or something.

Some highlights of a taped conversation between Enron employees:

"If you took down the steamer, how long would it take to get it back up?"

"Oh, it's not something you want to just be turning on and off every hour. Let's put it that way."

"Well, why don't you just go ahead and shut her down."

And this part is really interesting, also, in a sick sort of way:

"They're fucking taking all the money back from you guys? All the money you guys stole from those poor grandmothers in California?"

"Yeah, grandma Millie, man"

"Yeah, now she wants her fucking money back for all the power you've charged right up, jammed right up her asshole for fucking $250 a megawatt hour."

I also found this part from the http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/06/01/eveningnews/main620626.shtml">CBS Story pretty interesting.

Both the Justice Department and Enron tried to prevent the release of these tapes.

2. That makes perfect sense. In Imperial Amerika so much is opposite
of what it was durig the Days of the Old American Republic.

The EPA exists to keep us quiet and lie to us about air and water quality, as they did to the brave rescue workers in NYC after 9-11.

The FDA now exists to hush up fraud and disease for the Beef Industry. If you die of food poisoning, the FDA exists to shut you the hell up, perhaps by pretending to help you or doing something about it (while they help their Bushevik Friends and do NOTHING).

So, naturally, the Bushevik Imperial Amerikan "Justice" Department is there to PREVENT justice from being done.

This is as unsurpirsing as prisoner abuse in either Abu Grahib or Karagranda in the Old Soviet Union.

3. Heard this on CNN several days ago, but nothing since.
Lots of people on DU talking about but not much else. The big advantage here is that they were obtained via discovery motion in a suit by a Calif. city against Enron, so they won't go away even if the major media doesn't cover it.

5. Yeah, Just Play the Tape
(Edited, of course)

Play this part:

(Regarding a Bush win in 2000):

"It'd be great. I'd love to see Ken Lay Secretary of Energy."

Then...

"When this election comes Bush will fucking whack this shit, man. He won't play this price-cap bullshit."

Then they can play a clip from Bush's speech:

"We will not take any action that makes California's problems worse and that's why I oppose price caps."
