Has anyone ever done a price analysis of gas prices over Memorial Day
weekend. It seems to me like every single year over Memorial Day weekend gas prices spike and then immediately drop shortly afterward. Is this a pattern or am I just imagining things?

2. Try AAA ...
I don't think they post it on their website, but they keep records of gas prices. Ask for a list.

3. Well, the supply/demand curve would say they should increase
Of course, in reality there should be a lag, so the oil companies are just sticking it to us.

Wondering why truckers pay more in tax than commuters do.

well, since road damage increases exponentially with vehicle mass, it would basically seem fair if those who cause more wear and tear on the roads paid a bit more for their upkeep.

same should go for suv owners.

7. It is actually for anyone driving a diesel engine vehicle

With all the Government's concern for business and the tax breaks business's receive I just find this one a bit pecular. Almost all freight is handled by truck and that reflects on the price you pay for almost everything you buy. For the sake of improving the economy it would seem to be a way of providing relief that I wouldn't argue about. I would increase taxes on gasoline and reduce them a bit on diesel. It would make consumer goods more affordable and people who own SUVs and the thirsty cars would pay a bit more. I think they can afford it while the ones that don't own cars would see prices drop on things they can afford. This tax just seems regressive.

8. Golly, you could be right!
That might explain the newscasts that have every summer for the last 20 years predicted that the price of gas would increase for the memorial day weekend.

Thanks for explaining those cryptic communiques

10. Personal memory
Just like I can remember that every summer I have heard that it will be one of the worst fire seasons on record because A) It was a really wet winter or B) It was a really dry winter. Take your pick.
