Bush Not Lighting Any Fires
Bush isn't lighting any fires among voters in states that he absolutely HAS to win. The Iraq war is a big problem, especially to undecided voters in so-called "battleground" states.

http://www.annenbergpublicpolicycenter.org/naes/2004_03_swing-voters_6-04_pr.pdf

According to the Annenberg survey, undecided voters ("Persuadables") believe:

  • Iraq has increased the risk of a terrorist attack on the U.S. (67% to 19%)

  • Bush has no clear exit plan from Iraq (69% to 20%).

  • Disapprove of Bush's handling of Iraq (60% to 30%).

  • Think perception of US around the world is worse because of Bush (50% yes, 9% no, 32% no difference)

  • Disapprove of Bush handling of war on terrorism (50% to 42%)

The chance that Bush will lose this thing is getting stronger with each passing week. This is worth repeating: There's a very bright possibility that Bush will LOSE.

2. Yes, He Will Loose All Right
I'm still predicting 60/40. Bush is going to loose in an absolute landslide.

3. Iraq = Total Disaster
I think the Iraq thing is going to totally blow up in Bush's face this summer. I'm expecting an incident so embarrassing that he will finally have to make an irrevocable decision. This charade of Iraqi "sovereignty" is a point of vulnerability, and I expect the resistance fighters will exploit it. Bush will give another Stay the Course speech, but he'll still lose the election.

6. When This Is Over
We're going to have to settle a lot of things. I'm one pissed off Democrat, but I am a Democrat. Thanks be to God.
