DUers Mistake!
Edited on Tue Jun-08-04 08:59 PM by Disturbed
All the posts about Reagan are a waste of time and enegry. It would have shown more disdain if no posts were written at all. Also, it deflects the real issues.

The V. Plame Outing should be a focus because it shows what criminals are occupying the White House. Also, it could lead to criminal charges on the Pres., VP and others.

The Prison Torture Scandal can lead to a Constitutional Crisis. BushCo is guily of approving and carrying out War Crimes. The photos barely showed the tip of this. The real story is being buried. Actual War Crimes on a system wide basis is the situation that BushCo and the Congres are trying to avoid because that must lead to criminal charges straight to the Pres. and VP, and all the others that were and are still involved in allowing torture, beating, rape and yes... murders.

1. Mistake?

Well, next time we'll be sure to ask you first! </sarcasm>

The passing of the worst enemy Liberals and liberalism ever had and you think it was a mistake to discuss it? <shaking head>

All the scandals you listed have been going down for some time now. They have been discussed, will be discussed. They are important issues. But Reaganism is at the root of all of those evil things. It is an issue we ignore at our peril.

2. plenty of time for what you suggest. your "ignore it" advice is quaint
and typical in any message board full of "us vs them". very typcial...but also not allowing for simple human nature. Reagan was important. People got all watery-eyed over Bob Hope they're certainly going to make a big deal about Reagan. He is many a GOP'ers personal savior about 5 notches higher than Christ.

3. Yes, but...
...both of those topics have been talked about even more than Reagan.

This is what people are talking about.

4. Like it or not we are humans
And not a particularly organised bunch of them. Ronald Reagan may not have been the greatest president ever but he had a huge effect on this nation and the world. He was present when the nature of the game shifted. We have been playing a losing game since his tenure and his passing has an effect on us.

We are going to talk about him. He is the reason many of us became politically aware. Yes it would be marvelous if we could all drop our emotional natures, organise, and storm the White House and remove the chimp from power. But we are not automatons. We cannot shut off our emotional minds. We do not know exactly what to do. We support each other as best we can and muddle onward.
