Florida Not a Given for Bush This Fall
"
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) - Plenty has changed in Florida since the days of dimpled chads and disputed ballots, much of it in President Bush's favor. Brother Jeb easily won re-election as governor in 2002, and the Republican Party increased its ranks. The economy has shown signs of improvement, with more than a quarter-million new jobs.

But the narrow advantage the GOP incumbent carried into the election year seems to have evaporated, at least for now, as Florida voters of all political stripes expressed dismay over the war in Iraq.

The race is as close as it was four years ago, when a mere 537 votes tipped the state and the presidency to Bush.

Since then, the capital of close elections has grown by more than 1 million, mostly Democratic-leaning Hispanics and blacks as well as conservative whites drawn by Florida's warm temperatures and booming suburbs."

1. Maybe If This Latest Lawsuit Goes Through
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 06:11 AM by Don_G
It seems that Florida has a 40 year history of NOT putting eligible voters back onto their Voter Registration List.

I hope this will point out the problems with Florida's voting process and publicize the corrupt process in Jebbie's state.

2. Al Gore won florida, of course its not a given for Bush.
God I hate these articles so much. Florida was never a given for Bush, it is a swing state.

6. Apparently Jebbie's trying to pull the same crap this time
to the point that he's disgusted even his trusted voter hitman Ed Kast. When the carcass gets rotten enough to put the maggots off their feed, you'd think there would be a real outcry, a lawsuit, something.

We need to call this family to account for their crimes. "Treason" is beginning to sound inadequate.

8. I can tell you right now...Bush wins Central Florida in a landslide.
And he can expect to have the Cuban vote in South Florida, too.

Orlando is Bush Country, much as I hate to admit it.

11. Disney benefits BIG TIME from Jeb's special tax breaks.
Plus, Orlando is a very fundamentalist religious area. The Seventh-Day Adventists own most of the city.

I mean, anybody in FL who doesn't vote Bush might as well shoot himself in the head. Here, here, and here.

12. This kind of language irritates the crap outta me:
Since then, the capital of close elections has grown by more than 1 million, mostly Democratic-leaning Hispanics and blacks as well as conservative whites drawn by Florida's warm temperatures and booming suburbs."

What about LIBERAL whites drawn to Florida in the past few years, like myself? What the hell is with this broad brush paint?
