Poll question: The Motivation Behind Reagan Worshiping And Memorializing
What is the motivation for the folks who are calling for Reagan's image to be on currency? Why do they want to rename Ellis Island, The Pentagon? What's the reason for wanting to add Reagan to Mt. Rushmore?

Is it to honor Reagan and to memorialize the man and whatever they feel he's accomplished? Or are their motives purely partisan and political? Are they simply trying to needle and annoy Democrats?

3. any day now...
... the whores are going to notice that they have no ratings, then this nonsense will stop.

Meanwhile, their marching orders are to talk about ANYTHING other than the current events in Washington.

4. The RW, ulta conservatives need to make a hero where is none because
they have been on the wrong side history throughout the history of the US from slavery, through segregation, through industrialization and their stance against unions, to union busting, to big business subsidies, to tax breaks that allow the very wealthiest to pay far less, proportionally of thier wealth than the working dolt earning a weekly wage. They are wrong, hateful, evil, and vindictive...just read even the history they printed. They must MAKE A HERO where none exist because their history does not produce really good men of courage, intelligence, or compassion. So they have to make them up, lie to history, ingnore the truth and believe a lie. That's why.

a bunch of revisionist assholes, that's what they are. Putting that evil bastard's face on Rushmore would be pure desecration.

6. Mixture

I did not like Reagan's policies, but recognize that some did, and he was president for 8 years - so I am ok with his name being attached to some things (which it is already). The question is what is the appropriate scope, number and quality. Republicans seem to want to ram thru his name on a huge number of large builings etc.

I really don't like renaming this - taking honor away from someone else.

7. TV people.
Reagan was the ACTING PRESIDENT. Many here and across the nation want or believe in the "Westwing". It is just their reality. They want a good movie or show. That is why they waste time on cable "news". Reagan did it so well and that is why they love him.

We are media driven,Moore makes a good movie and its Moore for VP. Not much thought there. Just emotion. Thats why Dean failed.

Real Democrats want substance, not"passion" or the cheap theatrics that Republicans use..

8. Someone drag out what they said about JFK and King when they did this
Those guys in office love having things named after them selfs. I guess it makes them seem more important.I think the Romans did it also. I wonder if that means anything?

9. They have nothing else.
They have the abject failure in the white house. They think maybe people have forgotten all the bad things about Reagan (public Alzheimer's) so at least they can prop him up as something to represent the party with so little to praise.

10. The only reason I can think of as to why someone
would think Reagan was a good leader, would be Reagan made it fashionable to be a bigot.
