Nope, not going crazy - I hope they do it.

Because I'll buy a sharpie marker. And every Reagan Bill that comes into my possession I'll write another one of Reagan's crimes on it.

And I'll campaign to have more folks here at DU do the same. Can you imagine getting a Reagan $10 bill and read such facts about: Iran/Contra
Iraqgate and how Reagan took Hussien off the State Dept Terrorist list
How Reagan funded the Afghanistan freedom fighters including training Osama Bin Laden
How Reagan mortgage our future to "end the cold war"
How Reagan killed millions of people because he refused to do anything about that "Gay Cancer"

Oh the list is endless.

Every single Reagan Bill I would mark and I'm sure I could get a few hundred folks to join in with it.

Would it be fun

1. Good Idea but is a 10 or 20 BIG enough?

4. Perhaps his mug should grace all of the over sized novelty
checks given out for sweepstakes winners. Perhaps then, it would be a large enough surface to contain the litany of crimes committed. Welcome to DU. kippm99. :hi:

2. Yup, I want it to happen too!
In two years time, it will become the most defaced currency note in human history and will have to replace Raygunzzzaaaaap's ugly mug to stop the defacement!

It will be the most embarrassing thing they could ever do for Raygunzzaaaap's legacy!

3. It would be interesting!
an idea would be to write a link to a very short url that we setup that containsbackground and further links to the crimes of Reagan.

kindalike:

www:raygunsucks.com

www:raygunsucked.com ?

get to the page and its full of the crimes. We certainly have the talent here at DU to pull something like that off!

5. I wonder if the possibility of defacing will change their minds...
maybe they'll decide to put him on a coin instead so it'll be harder to deface.

13. Red nailpolish
similar to the skullcaps they put on quarters when Kennedy was running for president. The red could symbolize the blood on Reagan's hands.

7. Reagan $10s
A good idea, and I would participate. However, don't you think the rethugs who run the country would probably write in a penalty for defacing St.Ronnies's likeness which would carry some Gitmo time with it?

9. How would they catch you?
Defacing money is one of those crimes that's impossible to enforce. Sure they could hire people to analyze your handriting to find you like on "CSI", but that seems like a gross misallocation of resources. And the Republicans never, ever give money to stupid programs that benefit no one.:eyes:

8. Count me in
I'd go out of my way to amass those bills and would buy Sharpies in bulk. I'm unemployed, I've got time, may as well make good use of it!:)

11. I'd refuse to accept those bills.
I'd sweetly say I won't touch a murderer.

14. Write to the Ronald Reagan Legacy Foundation
That's Grover Norquist's tacky little shrine and tell them your ideas. You can leave your suggestions here:

http://www.reaganlegacy.org/suggestions/index.html

I'm sure they would be interested in hearing how the memory of their hero will be received.

15. If they are going to put Reagan on our currency, then it should be the 20.
Jackson was a disgusting human being. Reagan, bad as he was, wasn't as bad as Jackson. At least, as far as I know, Jackson had all his faculties. Reagan had Alzheimers for at least half of his time as President.

(Off topic: Do you think the assassignation attempt may have brought on the Alzheimers? Physical/emotional trauma can bring on all kinds of auto immune diseases and such things as cataracts...)
