If Ruppert is right and a coup is afoot...
make two lists: who you'd like to see replace the corrupt Bush maladministration and who you figure they'll put in his place.

There are two rules:

One: the members of both lists have to be Republicans or people not currently serving in elected offices; this because the House and Senate majorities are both Republican and they'd never install elected Democrats.

Two: no one currently working for Numb-Nuts can be in the interim administration.

I can't see how this would hurt us in the least. Even the stupidest freeper will have to admit that a party that completely collapses at its high end five months before the election can't be trusted.

I don't have a complete list of my own, but who I'd like to see in there:

President: Olympia Snowe
Vice-President: John McCain
Secretary of Defense: Paul Menoher
Secretary of the Interior: Mike Crapo

Who will probably be installed:
President: Bill Frist
VP: Tom DeLay
Secretary of Labor: whoever is running Wal-Mart this week
Secretary of Commerce: the chief of Wal-Mart's buying office

1. As Iraqis will attest, the enemy of your enemy is not always your friend.
The whole thing sounds kind of tinfoily to me, but I don't think anyone should be giddy about even the remote chance of a coup d'etat orchestrated by the CIA.

Just because the neocons would be sent packing doesn't mecessarily mean that their replacements would be any better.

I'd be much happier if we conduct our revolution at the BALLOT BOX.

7. Coup is not what this is
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 10:32 AM by HootieMcBoob
Bush and Cheney have talked to lawyers because there's a chance that they could be implicated in a criminal investigation of a felony that has jeopardized national security. This would be a criminal case against a group of criminals. To say that it's tinfoil is like saying that the entire valerie plame thing is nothing but a bunch of tinfoil and we know that's not the case.

14. Don't misunderstand me.
The Valerie Plame outing is a very real scandal- I'd love to see these guys carried away in handcuffs. That's not the "tinfoil" aspect I'm referring to.

All I'm saying is that I don't think that this is a concerted effort by the CIA to destroy Bush and install an intelligence-friendly administration.

The words "coup d'etat" don't apply here. Or at least, I sure hope they don't.

9. When someone writes, " he is right a lot of the time"
I think well, so is Drudge, but that doesn't mean that I trust his judgment or his website.

16. They wouldn't need to impeach them
Let's throw a wild supposition out here: that so much shit comes out about the Bushler administration, Congress has no choice but to act against him. (If they can tie Bush to Plame, the Abu Ghraib torture and 9/11, or any two of the three, and the Republicans in Congress keep acting like Officer Barbrady, the American people will turn against them. Remember the first goal of any politician: remaining one.)

The Republicans in Congress will join with the RNC to inform Mr. Bush of his two options.

His first option will be the mass resignation of the entire Bush administration with immediate pardon for any and all crimes which the member may or may not have committed, with the proviso that no member of the administration may ever again serve or do business with any government. This will allow Bush to go back to the pig farm, dump Pickles for Condi, and live happily ever after, and Cheney to do whatever in hell deposed Halliburton executives do.

His other option will be to refuse to resign. The entire administration will then be impeached, removed from office, indicted, tried and convicted. And given the vast number of crimes Bush is guilty of, he will go down in the history books as the first president ever sentenced to death.

Impeachment is for attempting to get rid of members of the other party.

Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 08:00 PM by Sterling
Jesus its common sense. For the record I think Ruppert is wrong on this but to suggest that peak oil is a mtyh is seriously delusional.
