Reagan and Saddam
This week we're Remembering Reagan. Remember how Reagan loved a good fight, especially when he didn't have to take responsibility for the deaths of tens of thousands innocents? Ever the optimist, Reagan presided over a large number of proxy wars, where Reagan funded (sometimes illegally) one side and the Soviet Union funded the other. Let's look a little closer. But briefly--I have to get to work...

Reagan's buddy, special envoy and arms dealer Donald Rumsfeld (now where have I heard that name before?) opened the doors for Ronny to back Saddam--a known cruel dictator who gassed his own people, silenced free speech and murdered his political opponents, you know the guy, the one Bush #1 failed to remove from power and the one Bush II lied about to sucker us into approving his own little war that led to the deaths of thousands of innocents and at least 1000 Americans...yeah, THAT Saddam, the really bad guy...

...well, that guy loved Reagan. Saddam was fighting the other great evil (no, not the Soviet Union or North Korea, but Saddam, the guy Bush II compared to Hitler), Iran, and needed a little boost. So Reagan gave it to him. Wait, though, wasn't Iran our friend? Didn't we give arms and money to our good friend the Shah of Iran...wait...but he was a ruthless dictator who killed his own people, suppressed free speech, and murdered his political opponents...now I'm confused. You're telling me that we were friends with one evil dictator, and then when they kicked out our guy and put in the new guy, we supported another evil dictator, and gave both sides guns, and then they had a huge war where millions were killed? Hmm.

This Reagan really was a great man.

1. I have the CNN video
Of Vice President George Bush kissing Saddam on each cheek at Hussein's birthday party.

VP George as you know was behind/running the Reagan Middle East plan along with CIA pal Casey.

2. Reality is fascinating.
Too bad 50% or more of Americans prefer to wallow in somnambulant willful ignorance and sociopathological denial.

(And probably another 30% are "too nice" to reference reality honestly.)

raygun was a criminal who should have died in prison.

7. When were the mass graves filled?
His Chimperial Highness loves to crow about how he defeated the evil which created those mass graves, but fudges on the point that most of them were filled up during the 80s, when Saddam was such an important strategic ally that "we" looked the other way when he "killed his own people." Yeah, I remember being blasted as an America-hating bleedingheart by bitching about Saddam Hussein in the 80s, WAY before it was cool to do so.

And don't forget about "Tim Osman" -- one of the brave muhajaddin that Reagan funded to fight a proxy war in Afghanistan with the Russkis back in the 80s.

Nobody likes to talk about it, but there is a more logical connection to the rise of terrorism than Clinton's zipper -- namely unsecured weapons from the fallen USSR and the creation of incredibly well-trained and supplied "insurgents". Jeez maneez -- they sure got these policies very very wrong and the globe will be destabilized for the foreseeable future as a result.

I have to laugh -- some glowing Soccer Mom was interviewed as she waited in line to say farewell to the Great Gipper, saying that thanks to him, her little children did not have to live under the threat of nuclear annihilation, and didn't know what it was like to have missles pointed at them. Uh, lady -- is it any better that your little children lived to see the goddamn WTC collapse after a terrorist operation by fucking terrorists? Are they REALLY better off, lady? And they say that President Reagan had cognitive disfunction! Gee, talk about Amnesia!
