Did anyone catch Jon Stewart's slam on David Brook last night?
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 12:43 PM by Melodybe
Right at the end before they went to the last commercial break, Jon said as he plugged Brook's book, "It is a fascinating look at the people we look down upon."

With a baby on the way this month, I would say that as far as Jon Stewart and the Daily Show are concerned the gloves are completely off. They have been off for a while, but TDS is going to continue to stick it to the man hardcore.

For that I say, God Bless Jon Stewart.

My friend likes to call TDS 30 minutes of the red pill. I agree 100%, what would we do without the Daily Show.

1. I love the show, but I think my wife has a crush on Jon
so I will only give it a B+

:P

Also: did you mean David Brooks, the NYT guy? I missed it last night, but will catch that episode at 7 today.

2. That was...
a great line! On the whole, though, I'll admit that Brooks came across less smarmy than I expected (but just as dumb).

7. Superficial Comment
I had always thought Brooks was tall. On the Daily Show, he seemed shorter than Stewart.

8. Brooks was kind of surprising
I can't put my finger on it exactly, but he does seem to make sense and go down the logic path, but then winds up at an unexpectedly strange destination.

3. TDS and DU
Are becoming my primary sources of information. At least when Jon harpoons Kerry, its because he actually did something stupid, not because the editors have an agenda.

5. When John Kerry wins
I'm sure he'll become of worthy target of TDS. And rightly so-the press (in this case, only the fake press), is supposed to scrutinize EVERYTHING the government does. Too bad only "fake" newsmen have the guts to do it anymore.

I would be pretty disappointed if they give him a pass when he takes office.

6. I loved it when he said he has been tearing his hair out and very depresse
He said he still thought invading Iraq was a good thing but we did it very badly and that was causing him extreme stress. "You gots to suffa if you want to sing the blues"

9. Oh, yeah. The gloves are definitely off
I've watched Jon dance carefully with the evil misadministration since the invasion. But now that the music has stopped, he is letting 'em have it. I have perceived a definite change in attitude toward the resident in thief and his minions the last three or four weeks with it cranking up several notches since his vacation.
