Reagan procession ... light crowds????

The crowds for the dead St Ronnie look a little like. The living Pontiff draws a lot more I think.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but the Kennedy procession was PACKED as far as the eye could see.

1. I don't know much about DC
But it looks like pretty good attendance at the procession right now on the tube. It might be the particular location, but the DC time right now is 6:30 so a lot of people either stayed downtown or came to town.

Personally, I wouldn't get off the couch to view his casket if you paid me.

2. Well, to be fair, Kennedy was a different situation.
A young man in his prime with young kids, a dynamic eloquent speaker and leader, assassinated in office versus a 93 year old who had been in declining health for years.

People lining the streets for Kennedy was almost part of a healing process or mourning process. For Reagan, it's only the uber-partisan hacks showing up dutifully.

4. Did you hear the applause????
When the parade started moving there was applause... weird- I don't think applause is appropriate at a funeral.

5. A funeral is NOT a rally ...

They don't understand that.

6. Soviet Funeral for Reagan
:puke::puke::puke::puke::puke:

Well, this really is obscene.

I mean they buried President Kennedy in three days, right?

This is becoming positively un-American. It reminds me of one of the old Soviet Union-style funerals for Stalin or Brezhenev.

And this kind of over-the-top ceremonialization is a direct contradiction of the American notion of equality. The Reagan funeral is getting just plain creepy.

More proof that there is something seriously wrong with the soul of this nation.

Did I miss something?

Was Reagan the messiah? It would seem so if one were to turn on FOX news.

I was at lunch with a friend and she said "Can they just plant the poor bastard". How true indeed...

8. And look at all the lovely shades of beige. . .
This is the whitest crowd I've seen in quite some time. Why, it almost looks like a Republican national convention.
