1. Reminds me of that one horror movie
Where Satan (?) takes over every frequency on earth and broadcasts.

Anyone recall which movie that was?

with John Ritter...

Actually, it wasn't Satan taking over Earth broadcasts. It's that John Ritter's satellite dish only picked up networks from Hell

15. Reagan's on the weather now too?
And now, our extended 5 day mourning outlook....

Today's Reagan high will be near 70, as Our Great President was when he took the oath of office.

Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, with sunbreaks as God allows the Gipper to send us all a Divine message.

8. Doris told a Gipper / dog story on O'Reilly yesterday. No one was bitten.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,122138,00.html

DAY: And I was feeding the dogs over in my dog kitchen, and one of the girls said to me, Doris, it's the White House calling. The phone rang. And I said, which White House? What are you talking about? And she said, it's the White House. Get on the phone. So I went to the phone and I said, yes, who is this? Who's putting me on? And I hear a voice say, this is President Reagan's secretary, and he would like to have a word with you.

Oh. I said, you're kidding. And she said, of course not, here he is now. And he gets on and he said, well, that was a fine story about my dog and about me and Santa Barbara. And I said, oh, I'm sorry you read it. And he said, yes, I read every word. And he said, I was furious about that, and I'm calling you to tell you that he loves Santa Barbara. He loves the ranch. He has lots doggie friends there. And he was not happy in the White House. I said, no? He said, no. He couldn't run without a leash. He couldn't do, he couldn't play. He couldn't...

O'REILLY: So that was -- that's an interesting story because it just shows you that Reagan was on top of just about everything that happened, and a lot of people thought he wasn't. That he was...

Pictures of the plane taxi-ing, pictures of the plane taking off, pictures of the plane flying. Pictures of where the plane os going to land, pictures of the place where the casket is going to be taken.

13. Like it or not, a state funeral is news-worthy...
Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 05:39 PM by alg0912
...and, if President Carter or President Clinton wish to have a similar state funeral, it'll be on all the networks as well.

Personally, I find it very fascinating, from an historical perspective. I barely remember LBJ's, and I wasn't born yet when President Kennedy was murdered by Poppy, so this is my first real chance to see an actual, bells & whistles state funeral.

On edit: I'm glad that - in this case - the president in the box is one I have little affection for. If this were Carter or Clinton's funeral, I'd be a mess...

He said only later will his historical record be looked at.

This is just blatant propanganda!!!! And I'm afraid the news is complacent into creating a mythic figure out of this man. A man whose record is horrendous.

so I tuned in the local news to see if there was flooding anywhere, and danged if it's not all funeral cortege coverage.

I hope to God the networks take a huge hit for their wall-to-wall coverage of this semi-notable event.

You know . . . half of us didn't like him at the time, and a huge number of people alive now were just little kids then.

Who do they think is watching?

Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 06:26 PM by Nashyra
but just maybe, just maybe some of this tradition will wake some of these idiots up that support the * and want to be proud of their country again. Who knows maybe. I have respect for Nancy Regan, she has had a tough road with ronnie and I know that all her money made it easier on her than with most, but she really did lose the person she loved dearly, was probably a relief after all the caretaking, and Ron Jr has never said a good word about chimpy and he loved his dad. I'm sorry but I'm opting for a bit of compassion and hoping that people will start to recognize all that we have lost under the *. History is history, he did win a second term in a landslide so there are alot of people who did like him. It won't hurt us, I think it will serve to make the * look only worse. Mrs. Regan looks very, very tired. They just said we respect the office of the President of the United States, remind people that the * does not measure up to the office.

Edited on Wed Jun-09-04 06:24 PM by Dover
the burial of the Bush Regime.....which I can imagine will give Survivor, Millionaire, Fear Factor and American Idol a run for its money...seeing how it takes elements of each. Only this time the losers will pay dearly.

So I'll take a little time out of my day to savor the poignancy of the moment...and hope that this GOP burial is an omen.

I think this a rather fitting eulogy for Reagan

too bad it won't be read

FATHER MIGUEL D'ESCOTO: First of all, let me start out by saying that, of course, Reagan is now dead. And I, for one, would like to say only nice things about him. I'm not insensitive to the feelings of many U.S. people mourning president Reagan, but as I pray that god in his infinite mercy and goodness forgive him for having been the butcher of my people, for having been responsible for the deaths of some 50,000 Nicaraguans, we cannot, we should not ever forget the crimes he committed in the name of what he falsely labeled freedom and democracy.
