To clear up some of the anger and confusion about the Reaganathon this week.....

"Ronald Reagan's state funeral was planned more than 20 years ago, mostly by the 40th president himself when he first entered the White House.
Mr. Reagan began planning the ceremony shortly after taking office in 1981, a ritual which became customary after the assassination of President Kennedy, whose lack of funeral preparations left organizers unsure how to proceed.
Shortly after Mr. Reagan left office, he finalized the plans.
"President Reagan gave us a substantial (300-page) plan (for his state funeral) in 1989," said Capt. Peter Kerr of the Military District of Washington, which is in charge of the organization and execution of state funerals"

soon after they leave office. I guess it makes sense so that Washington can prepare as soon as they pass away.

that all the presidents have their funeral plans on the record, with the exception of Clinton.
Of course, it will be spun that he's a dip-shit, can't get his act together enough to do this -- instead of what is probably the real reason -- he isn't busy planning grandiose spectacles to glorify him in death beyond what he was in life -- something the Repukes are obsessed with.

4. Wrong - I read the plan were updated Annually

The example they gave was that Nixon originally asked for a song to be played California Here I Come - but slowly - at some later point, the song was dropped.

So Reagan's plans were updated more recently than 1989.
