Here's Bush's silver lining in today's LA Times poll that has Kerry up nationally by 7 pts:

"Yet in a measure of the race's tenuous balance, Times polling in three of the most fiercely contested states found that Bush had a clear advantage over Kerry in Missouri..."

But this poll was conducted before Ashcroft's unhinged performance before Congress this week. So do you think your friends and neighbors have been shown enough, or will they (ho-ho) stay the course until there's actual video of Ashcroft counting the strawberries in the White House fridge?

1. I don't think there's too much to worry about here

Everyone who voted democratic in 2000 will do so again, and I know many people who voted for the chimp* who feel as though they've been used, and used badly.
Add to that, the base is energised to remove the cancer that has grown for the past 3 1/2 years. Many people won't say what they're going to do, and when the ballot is in front of them they'll be marking Kerry.
I believe Kerry will carry this state.
