Wingnut "letter" from Saddam and my response
A colleague received this in an email from a wing nut friend. It burns me up so much I had to do something. Below it is my response.

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind.
I lost my job this past year.

When Clinton was president, I worked in a prosperous enterprise. But in the last year, we had to close our operations.

Far worse, I lost two of my sons in Bush's evil war in Iraq. They gave their Lives for their country, and for what?

My pain of losing my sons is indescribable.
While it is trivial next to the loss of my sons, I regret
to say that I also lost my possessions and home.
I simply have nothing left.

I am a senior citizen with various medical problems. I'm not in a position where I can begin a new career. I was reduced to the point where I was homeless, all because of President Bush. And when the authorities found me, did they have any compassion for my misfortune and ailments? No, I was arrested. If I had any money left, I would donate it to the Democratic party.

If Al Gore had been elected in 2000, I guarantee you, I would still have a job, a home, and most importantly, my sons!

Thank you for hearing me out.

Regards,

Saddam Hussein

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Dear Mr. Hussein,

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your sons, as well as for the deaths of more than 10,000 of your innocent countrymen. We also have lost more than 800 of our sons and daughters, and more are dying every day because of the overwhelming incompetence of our unelected commander-in-chief.

I'm also sorry to hear of your terrible health problems. We knew prior to the invasion that you were in the final stages of terminal lymphatic cancer--but rest assured that you will receive excellent health care. In fact, all Iraqis are now guaranteed free health coverage thanks to the taxpayers of the United States. We have over 40 million Americans who don't have health insurance, yet we are glad to see that the Iraqi people are given this fundamental right.

I hope your health holds out long enough for you to testify at your upcoming trial. I'm sure you'll want to set the record straight on your previous cozy relationship with the Reagan-Bush administrations. I know you want to remind the world about how they armed you and helped you set up your biological and chemical weapons programs. I know how you will want to confirm reports that US defense forces reconnoitered the battle fields for you while you attacked the Kurds and Iranians with chemical weapons.

Like you I am sorry that Al Gore did not take office after receiving more votes than Bush. Millions of jobs have also been lost here and many have died needlessly. Gore would have continued Clinton's policy of containment, since you had no WMDs and posed no threat to us or to the region. Iraqis would have had to suffer under your dictatorship for another couple of years, until the cancer disabled you completely.

Al Gore would have kept the top priority and focus of our national security agencies on the Al Qaeda threat, instead of ignoring it completely. Maybe he would even have prevented 9/11 from happening. But of course you were also an enemy of Osama Bin Laden, and you had nothing to do with 9/11.

But more importantly, if Al Gore had been elected, America would still have its dignity and honor instead of the shame and humiliation we now suffer because of the torture scandals, innocent civilian casualties, and missing WMDs. And America would still have close relations with our allies, whose cooperation is essential for battling international terrorism.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Regards,

Someone Who Is Very Concerned

6. Thanks for the feedback
The wingnut wrote back with a laughable response. I'd like to share it but I don't know if that would be an unfair invasion of privacy (I don't even know the guy!). What do you think? Would it be ethical to post his reply? Do you wanna see it?

9. Sure, post the lame response
Just be sure to redact any identifying information on the dope. He sent you an email, it becomes your property, so copy and paste away.

7. Excellent response
You might toss in:

"If you're hard up for ready cash, you might call on your old friend and business partner Dick Cheney. As you recall, you and he did $23 million worth of business back in 1998, and thanks to his ongoing relationship with Halliburton, Mr. Cheney 'earned' an additional $175,000 from them last year."

8. You are brilliant!
Thank you so much. I will copy this and use it as that email letter comes my way. (I received it before, but those who circulate them have a tendency to forget who they sent them to.)

Wonderful response.

12. OK! You talked me into it. Here's his response...
FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS VOTE REPUBLICAN

Its a terribly sad thing to see one's friend taken over by the dark forces. The consequences of cognitive dissonance can do serious damage to one's mental health. Should I help my colleague reach out a helping hand to her poor lost friend, or is it totally hopeless??

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i love the liberal responses. they are always full of inaccurate anecdotes in an attempt to rewrite history.
im interested to know who the "unelected" commander-in-chief is that your friend refers to in the first sentence.
im glad to know that your friend is qualified and can predict the longevity of a persons life. please ask that person how long i have to live! also ask that person why osama didnt die, hes been sick for the last number of years. maybe we should have just waited around for him to die of his ailments like the clinton administration tried. its also comforting to know that youre friend feels that if saddam was left to die, and his sons took over the country, the regime change would be more positive for the region. i guess that person didnt read or watch the liberal news media outlets describe uday and qusay as ruthless and lawless. im sure the people of iraq and the region would have been better off with saddams death....when it happened.
your friend should realize that this country was not founded on socialist ideologies. since when is health insurance a fundamental right? tell that person to move to france or germany, im sure they will be much better off. ask them to see how alic baldwin is doing while there.
i cant really comment on what the administrations did during the 80's in the mid east but im glad that iran didnt win control over the region. im sure that the world is better off not having one dominant force in the mid east.
next, clintons "containment policy" was a joke. oil for food only netted this man billions of dollars for him and his family. he also gave 25 grand to the family of any palestinian that martyred him/herself in isreal. no threat to the region? sure! the united nations also recognized that this man had wmb....he did use them on his own people. but i guess according to you friend that never happened cause it supports the current administrations view. clinton had the same info but decided to do nothing, just like he did nothing during the ethnic cleansing in rwanda when almost 1 mill people got slaughtered. i guess the best example of clintons "containment policy" was "operation trojan horse" in texas. 51 days of containment in order to finally have eighty some odd people die of which the gov didnt tell anyone how many of those were undercover gov agents...hence the name operation trojan horse.
furthermore to say that "Al Gore would have kept the top priority and focus of our national security agencies on the Al Qaeda threat, instead of ignoring it completely" ridiculous! did this person forget about the cole or the countless embassy's or the first attack on the world trade center? didnt that all happen during the clinton/gore years? and to insinuate that the bush administration should have prevented, or could have, 9/11 is ridiculous. all i know is that in the time since the attack(9/11) we havent had another. bush has liberated two countrys and crippled the al-queda network. he also changed the perspective on the lybian leadership and put inspectors in iran and north korea.... all without firing a single shot. yes we lost many soldiers and this is a high price to pay. i regret that. but to sit and wait to see what would be next is no longer acceptable.
im so tired of listening to all this liberal rhetoric. please, now george is not perfect. but to ignore what actually happened is wrong. it really just tells me that your friend is very close minded to what really goes on in the world and is brainwashed by the liberal left.

still love you!
