What states will Bush lose that he had last time?
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 01:12 PM by coloradodem2004
Which ones will he win that he did not win last time?

I know that he is going to lose New Hampshire. But beyond that I have no clue.

but this will be a hard state for Kerry to win.

I will say this: down here in New Orleans Kerry stickers outnumber bush stickers 10 to 1 (at least)

4. Ohio, Missouri, West Virginia, Texas.
OK, just kidding about Texas. ;-)

Possibly New Hampshire (I wouldn't put that as definite as you do).

I don't know if he won Nevada the last time out, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him lose there as well. He might also lose Arizona.

The key to the election isn't to just look at the nationwide polls, they're not quite so meaningful. The key is to look at how he's polling in crucial battleground states, and right now it ain't looking too good for him.

However, his decision since the election to put a nuclear waste dump there has put NV in the "iffy" column, according to some astute politicos...

And hopefully West Virgnia, Ohio, Nevada and Florida (although with Jeb as guv I'm not holding my breath).

Longer shots would be Virginia, Arizona, Louisiana and Arkansas. Edwards as veep could help him in some of the southern states.

But I have seen way more John Kerry bumper stickers than Bush-Cheney bumper stickers.

Besides that some "tough-guy" Texans might think that Bush is too wimpy for begging the UN & NATO to clean up his mess.

If people purely voted on issues then there would be no reason to vote against Bush(on this one issue). People are pissed off at the lie and the breech of trust by being told no waste at Yucca. However lies are just harmless words, if they truly cared about the issue they would vote Nader.

Please please please!

Sometimes I hate my state. It was very disheartening to watch NC go into the Red column when I was in college during Clinton/Bush.

But as soon as the whole thing went to Clinton, our entire dorm erupted in cheering!

53. I agree NC will be blue
Lived there for seven years before moving to Wisconsin (which I hope we win, too). Anyways, I was on the horn yesterday with a pal of mine who is active in politics there. He says Erskine is ahead of Burr in the polls and Kerry will carry the state. Honestly, when I lived there, I thought as you - that the state of Jesse Helms can't possibly catch up with the rest of progressive America. But I'll be damned, we elected Easley (Democrat) to Governor and it looks like North Carolians will elect Erskine Bowles to the senate. ...if Edwards is on the ticket, Kerry will definitely pick up N.C.

55. NC to Wisconsin... must've been a helluva culture shock
I honestly believe that Edwards will be the key, though, in NC. Easley and Erskine are solid candidates but not the type to stir up much excitement. The deciding factor, IMO, will be Dem turnout. I think Edwards would guarantee that. Hopefully, that idiot Burr will scare enough folks to help motivate the Dem/Indy bases.

Personally, I've always defended NC's progressive bona fides. Jesse notwithstanding, we've generally had a good Gov (Hunt was particularly good w/education) and SOME good Congressional representation. Price, Watt and the sorely missed Clayton are/were smart, fairly progressive folks. A couple of the other Dems have pretty fair records. Taking into account the fact that we went for Carter in '76, like you, I don't agree with the conventional wisdom that we're a writeoff.
