Remembering Reagan - Killer, Coward, Con- Man

KILLER, COWARD, CON-MAN
GOOD RIDDANCE, GIPPER ...
MORE PROOF ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG
By Greg Palast

You're not going to like this. You shouldn't speak ill of the dead. But in this case, someone's got to.

Ronald Reagan was a conman. Reagan was a coward. Reagan was a killer.

In 1987, I found myself stuck in a crappy little town in Nicaragua named Chaguitillo. The people were kind enough, though hungry, except for one surly young man. His wife had just died of tuberculosis.

People don't die of TB if they get some antibiotics. But Ronald Reagan, big hearted guy that he was, had put a lock-down embargo on medicine to Nicaragua because he didn't like the government that the people there had elected.

Ronnie grinned and cracked jokes while the young woman's lungs filled up and she stopped breathing. Reagan flashed that B-movie grin while they buried the mother of three.

And when Hezbollah terrorists struck and murdered hundreds of American marines in their sleep in Lebanon, the TV warrior ran away like a whipped dog … then turned around and invaded Grenada. That little Club Med war was a murderous PR stunt so Ronnie could hold parades for gunning down Cubans building an airport.

I remember Nancy, a skull and crossbones prancing around in designer dresses, some of the "gifts" that flowed to the Reagans -- from hats to million-dollar homes -- from cronies well compensated with government loot. It used to be called bribery.

And all the while, Grandpa grinned, the grandfather who bleated on about "family values" but didn't bother to see his own grandchildren.

6. Thank you RBHam!!! Somebody needs to tell it!
These idiot buttkissers talk about Reagan like he's Jesus Christ! One woman to one of these call-in shows said "He just had that integrit to him -you just KNEW him. Reagan was like your mother or father." He's not like mine. Last time I checked my mother didn't sell weapons to the Contras, nor did she trade arms for hostages to the Iranians, or make deals with the mullahs in Teheran to hold hostages until after her political party won the White House, or refuse to move on AIDS because she figuered AIDs only hurt homosexuals. This orgy of accolades that's being heaped on this scumbag is completely undeserved. Let him answer why Oliver North was "supporting" the Contras by allowing them to smuggle drugs into the US during the 80's, then we can talk about giving him compliments.
I got two words for Reagan, "ROT SLOWLY."

7. The Truth Is Terrible, the Lie Sublime...
All those media swine consciously lying and spinning the Reagan Wreakacy - building up "official myth-making" in the very same manner any totalitarian state would do.

They're turning Reagan into the Right Wing Lenin. Too bad he wasted away so long with Alzheimers, they might have been able to mummify him and place him in a glass case near the Capitol. Maybe with some jelly beans in a jar placed under his arm, a bottle of ketchup to symbolize his educational achievements, and a permanent note placed on his sarcophagus, "I don't recall."

10. this website is too radical kick
:kick:

deal with it. read palast's artcile. start spreading the truth about the DISASTER that Reagan created. He damn near single-handedly dstroyed the REAL values that America stood for. Before Reagan, homelessness was rare and the unfortunate souls stuck in those circumstances could rely on at least some kind of social safety net.
Now the homeless are countless - and they are viewed by the Far Right as less than human. THANKS, RONNIE!

12. Don't forget mental patients!
Thanks to Ray-Gun, those retards were forced to become productive members of society - picking up bottles, fixing up old starter cardboard boxes into cozy flats, learning how to inject unsafe drugs, learning how to enjoy cold winter romantic nights huddled near steam grates...

Oh! How saintly Mr. Reagan was!

people crying around me when Carter lost in '80. Now I know why.
