more tied with Reagan's terms in office or more responsible for whatever success Reagan's Administration can claim on the world stage.

Mikhail Gorbachev was only at the bier less than a minute (I caught it while channel surfing; one of the few images I've watched of the Reagasm, it was touching and good to see Gorbachev looking so well).

That a news station would switch from whatever it was broadcasting to cover this event is entirely in line with what I expect from a news broadcast. That a Kerry ad was on at that moment was but a quirk of timing. That his ad was cut short, however, is understandable. I'm sure the Arbitron people (or whichever group is tracking Kerry's ads) will assure he gets credit for the unplayed ad.
