Well, I don't think anyone can accuse the media of being "liberal" anymore
not after this Reagan-a-thon grief-gasm.

I'm about as cynical and negative as I've ever been in my life about the news media, especially cable television "news", and I'm still REALLY surprised at what has been a gross dereliction of journalistic standards and ethics this week.

If anybody can possibly think that the media is "liberal" after this week, they are fucking delusional.

They have been shoving this artificial myth about Raygun down our collective THROATS for days and days now.

The transparency of it is astounding.

Do they think we're that stupid? GOSH YES!!

7. The media stopped being even remotely liberal
When the corporate giants started buying up all of the networks. Think General Electric is liberal?

8. "Liberal"?
I never thought they were in the first place. And after this week I doubt many others will, either.

9. Republicans still don't trust the media
I just read this over at Buzzflash:

"What is it about Republicans and their distrust of the mainstream media? As most news outlets are portraying the dead Ronald Reagan as an iconic and heroic figure, the Pew Research Center has released a survey that shows GOPers trust the major media organizations much less than Democrats. Only 15 to 17 percent of Republicans believe the network news shows are credible. Even Fox News Channel is trusted by only 29 percent of Republicans; CNN is trusted by 26 percent of this band."

Could they possibly think Fox News is too liberal? Or do they know it's a bunch of lies? It's very strange how the media props Bush up so incredibly much and yet the Republicans seem like they are never happy with it.

12. saw some poll recently where most americans thought they were
still.

I found that unbelievable.

It's amazing how you can keep people ignorant when you control the media in an isolated country such as the U.S.

10. The letters to NPR
were scathing about the Reagan coverage on All Things Considered. I haven't even looked at TV news, and refuse to.

13. They can't but they will. The Nazis couldn't claim they wanted PEACE
But they did. Over and over and OVER again.

Sure the Busheviks can do the same as their spiritual antecedents.

14. go back a couple of months...
...to the Repuke outrage expressed to CBS over "The Reagans" (which I saw on Showtime, btw, and found it to be pretty mild stuff).

They knew their boy didn't have long to live, and they were planting the seeds for this week. After the hue and cry over a harmless miniseries, do you think any of our 'fearless' corporate media types would do anything to hurt their 'branding' or, in the case of NBC and MSNBC, cause an impact on their precious bottom line at G.E.?

This is where media consolidation has brought us - don't offend the most vocal because you're scared shitless about your profits. Journalism and honesty are things of the past...
