The unbearable lightness of being... a conservative
This is a post from hannity.com. It's very representative of what sort of thinking goes on in a lot of the * supporters' minds... I thought I'd share it:

"The war on terror. The easiest way to explain it is a neigborhood that did nothing.
Down the street you have a house and everyday the father comes home angry at the world and so he beats his wife and kids every day and everyday for 13 years the neighbors watch and listen and does nothing he's has been warned before but continues the violence. The wife cries, the children scream, the doors slam, and glass' are broken but the people around just watch and listen and do nothing. Finally the biggest guy down the street who lives the fathest away has enough of the violence, abuse and games. So he walks down the street gathering other neighbors who want to help and kicks the door down drags the abussive man out and pummels and beats him with the help of SOME of his neighbors ending the abuse.
What did the rescuers want in return...They asked for nothing in return all they gave the family was a better life.

This is how my daughters teacher explained the war on terror. maybe one day the libs. will wake up and see their are people who need a little help and there are people out there who see a greater cause other then themselves.
yea some of you libs. will complain its a violent story and its a wrong message but all my wife has to do is watch the news with my daughter and watch your "peace" rallies destroy entire cities with violence and vandalism for what reason? because people disagree with so you challenge lawful authority...you lefties are so two faced its pathetic.

COURAGE HONOR DUTY a way of life..."

1. then walked in house and raped the mother and daughters
hey and why not some sons too, to let the father know the threat if he ever again beats his family,. then we hand them a bible and tell them to get with god, like we are, so we can all be happy

5. ...and all the while,
the neighbor two doors down, who happens to have killed the big guy's wife, is plotting to kill his children too.

2. Scary analogy
No mention of legal recourse, no mention of befriending and supporting the family, or helping the wife escape. Violence begets violence, the biggest one wins. I'm sure watching mob violence against their father/husband really improved that family's life. MKJ

4. So many "conservatives" seem to think that false analogy is
the highest form of argumentation.

I know!!!!
That is _so_ true! They make up a half-assed analogy and as soon as they do that, they forget about the reality and only argue about the analogy, as if _that_ were the reality.

6. Peace rallies destroy entire cities?!!?!?!
What does that whored out prevaricating sack of excrement know about "COURAGE HONOR DUTY" except for a total lack of the first two and duty only to his evil overlords.

8. They seriously think that.
I've been posting on hannity.com in the last few days... Many of them, perhaps most, _seriously_ think that the anti-war rallies are a bunch of violent communist thugs bent on destroying America. I do have to admit, a lot of them (a minorty, but still) probably live in the boonies and they've never been to one, and they only get major network coverage -- and are willing to listen and talk and reconsider. Some of them are just fascists, and some believe in Bush analogously to how a religious person believes in God... Any input damaging to Bush is simply an evil temptation that needs to be resisted. Like, the State Department "correction" about the extent of terrorism yesterday... Some of them simply said "the SD is lying to make the Admin look bad". Others said "See, this only proves the Administration is honest.". End of story, go on.

12. Willful ignorance is less than no excuse.
The sheeple choose to be ignorant and to buy into the demagoguery and as such are completely complicit in the amerikkkan atrocity. (As opposed to the actual devine concept of America.)

7. What cities?

your "peace" rallies destroy entire cities with violence and vandalism

I know some of the protectionist demonstrations have turned ugly. But I was unaware of any instances of violence, by demonstrators or police, during any of the peace rallies. I know that in Chicago the worst that can be said is that one such demonstration took a wrong turn and shut down a major thoroughfare during the last of rush hour for a few minutes. There were also all the stupid drivers screwing up traffic as they paused to gawk further up the road. But that was the drivers' fault, not the demonstrators'.

13. More cynical sociopathological prevarication from wrong wing propagandists
It starts at the top of the theocon slime pile.

The pretzeldent is not bound by the laws of America or international treaties and certainly is not bound by common decency, so anything is justified in the glorification and legitimization of wrong wing atrocity.

9. Yep, the hell with them commie police or CPS goons...
..I'll just gather me up a good ol' fashioned LYNCH-MOB!! Damn lefties. They believe in no laws at all.

BTW, that "teacher" is supposed to be teaching. Teaching the kids their ABC's, and that the world is round, and that 2+2=4. NOT pushing their personal political views and petty fears on impressionable kids. He or she should be released, or at the minimum harshly disciplined.

14. I'm more disturbed...
...by the fact that a teacher, an authoritive figure in the development of a child, is basically telling them that vigilante justice is ok. Perhaps the neighbors should have called the police, but I guess that would just be un-American.

15. Maybe the Wife should Protect Herself
Instead of being beaten for 13 years maybe the wife should have taken her children and left the husband. Also, there are some country singers who say they will not get in a fight between a woman and a man in that if they do the women might turn on them and beat them.

This actually happened to a country singer. I do not remember his name but when he was asked if he would protect a women being beaten by a man he said no. He then explained that he had tried it once and the women began to beat him. We could connect this to the Iraqi people ,not that they are bad, in that after we defeated Saddam they turned on us and told us to leave the country.

Also, the teacher left something out of the story. The teacher should have mentioned that the neighbor's father (Bush I), the friends of the father(Bush II's cabinet) and the predessor of the father (Reagan) who, by the way, is loved by the very people who now want to beat the husband, gave the husband everything he needed to be abusive, even paying for his gym dues so he could become very strong. Even when people told them not to help the husband they did. When the women had had enough and decided to leave her husband, the neighbor's father and the friends of the father told the women they would help her if she left. However, after the wife left they decided not to help her. Instead, they left her to the will of her husband who beat her badly after she decided to leave. Oh, and lets not forget that the neighbor's father and his friends claimed they would not do anything to the husband if he decided to beat his wife in that they did not have any ties to the wife.
