From my son stationed at Abu Graib:
Pappy,
Oh what a cap to a great day your and Officer Herbert's e-mails were. Man, how I missed that place, and I am happy to know I am still being thought about. I don't think that if I had joined another department I would have been treated as well as I am at that department. I may make it a point to become a full time officer there. I must be one lucky guy to have friends and family who care so much. You better believe that I will be reserving some of my leave time to work with them. That should say a lot.
God, what a good day, Bobby and Joey are home, and I couldn't be happier. I think it will get a great deal better from here on out. We are already past 100 days in iraq, and there can't be too many left. I'm gaining popularity in the unit, and I may be receiving my promotion soon. Best day in a long time.
Yep, Ron Reagan died last Saturday, I know. Funny thing is I had a school paper back in 6th grade about him and his alzheimers. My prediction was that he wouldn't last ten years. I guess I was right.
Well, I am off, I better get some sleep for work tomorrow.
I love you, Michael
