Soooo...Did Bush screw up the eulogy?
You know, like he always screws something up during a speech.

3. Not really
He spoke slowly....no more than 5-6 words in a row.

Easy, simple laugh lines (although he may have placed emphasis on the wrong word in the punchline)

Smirked his way through most of it.

Not inspiring.

Nothing really memorable.

I have some suspicions about the particular items he chose to praise Reagan. I think he was setting up comparisons between him and RR for the campaign, but we'll just have to wait for it.

6. If he sees Reagan anywhere
I don't think it will be heaven. But he can take comfort in the fact that Richard Nixon and Strom Thurmond will be there too.

7. Dim-Son should switch
careers to sermonizing. I've noticed when he's invoking the name of the holy one and amening he actually speaks without stammering or stuttering.

8. He was trying to say "smiling" at the end and it came out like "smiring"
I had to look at the transcript to see what he was supposed to say. Could've been my ears, too.

9. actually, I thought *s was the least demagogic (if that's a word)
Thatcher's was utterly disgusting...laded with Evil Empire crap. With such demagogues in power during the 80s, the world is so lucky that a clear thinker like Gorbachev was one of the players. By the way these other turkeys talked, it's a wonder we didn't have a nuclear conflict.

I can't believe Gorby sat through that. How many times can you be called evil and a loser and not blow your top?

10. BOR-RING!
No wonder I counted at least six different people snoozing -- and no, eulogies don't have to be boring. I saw two stirring eulogies in the last ten years, both in Chicago: Msgr. Ken Velo's incredibly powerful eulogy of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, and Pete Van Acken's rip-roaring sendoff of Haray Caray.

What I found surprising was why Ronnie didn't want one of his Hollywood cronies say a word or two. It would've been appropriate, and added a little more wit to the proceedings.

But as for Dear Leader ... whatever bump he gets will be miniscule.

He blew it.

13. I felt the entire time
the funeral was all about a great man, a gifted politician and a time witness in historic events...........

.............it made Bush looking so small and foolish in all his efforts to be a war-hero-President!!

Whenever they thought, this Reagan thing would be good for him, I truly doubt it, it makes people compare and thats really bad for him!

He looks even more like a nonexistent leader, and for sure not the one of the Free World!!!!!!!!!!!!

The world is waiting for a change!!!!!!!!!!

America will be in better shape after another president is elected!
