Freepers mourn Pigboy's divorce
Limbaugh Announces End of 10-Year Marriage

"I listen in to Rush when ever I can. While I am not a fire breathing devotee,he has certainly opened my eyes and ears to politics that mainstream media never could have.Jackals, vultures and other parasites of the pre-lubed Left will leap on this all weekend. In many respects the insults he will inevitably endure will also be aimed at those of us who have the same principles and ideals. Let's see how "Hands Off" the "unbiased press" is in this case of "personal private affairs".We all know what's coming next.Rush has a lot to deal with here. I think I will keep my nose out of his private life, pass on any program that decides to glory in his misfortunes, and add my humble prayers of support to the millions of us who respect what he has done in the realm of Radio and Politics...."

"Rush mentioned somethings about being more authentic in his personal life when he came back from the rehab. Who knows.. speculation is useless anyway. I wish them both the best. I certainly hope he stays off the drugs through this."

To: AmericaUnited
Right. Friday night on the day of Reagan funeral. Well Rush can't certainly can't fault Clinton or whoever for doing this anymore.

Ummm, I'm amazed he did it at all. This is certainly none of our business unlike, say, a sitting president committing perjury. Anyway, your comparison is off base.

Too bad about Marta, but pain can be a good thing. Maybe Rush will get back some of the edge he lost during his marriage. I completely stopped listening to him for a long time--it was nothing but Marta's ties, cigars, golf, and more shilling for Marta's ties.

...that's one of the MAJOR reasons why Franken hates him. When Garcia died, Limbaugh's reaction was essentially "goodbye and good riddance to a fat hippie drug addict who got what he DESERVED." Then Rush got busted for drugs, and his fans were pissed off at the field day the "liberal media" had with his "private crisis."

32. *LOL* the freeps are saying its no ones business!!
...NOW all of a sudden in freeperland it's none of our business! So the guy that has been pushing his version of morality on the radio waves for the last fifteen years, who had a running orgasm all through a bogus impeachment, and who's very living is made by setting, and pushing unrealistic standards for people to adhere to is getting a divorce, for what the third time now?

None of our business? When you're entire persona, and profession, is based around morals that you are supposed to be touting, and you blatantly break those again, and again, and you constantly end up on the radio waves trying to break people down who don't adhere to what you yourself refuse to adhere too, it IS someone else's business. If you are going to set a high standard, you better DAMN sure live up to it yourself, and be a man and take responsibility for your actions, if you can't.

Looks like old Rush ignored the cardinal rule. "Be careful who you step on, on the way up, because they are the same people you will be running in to on your way down."

the message."

To: A2J

Conservatism does not relate to Puritanism. The fact that Rush is divorcing should not invalidate nor dilute his statements made from a politically Conservative point of view. Just as Ronald Reagan's divorce from Jane Wyman had no impact on his validity as a Conservative, nor does an impending divorce for Rush do so. What Rush does or says does not affect the foundation of Conservatism as much as what you and I do on a daily basis as we live our lives and conduct our affairs. The mass of Conservatism does not revolve around one man. Conservatism has leaders and policy advocates, but the movement is based upon you and I and the fellow down the road. Any evaluation of any random Conservative will find us wanting and weak in many of our "values". That is because we are human beings and fallible. Weakness and imperfections in the messenger does not invalidate the message.

62. We must capitalize Conservative from now on, like God or Christ
The word "liberal", however, must remain lower case. When referring to a Conservative, if it be a male, that person must be referred to as He or Him; if the Conservative be a female, refer to that person as She or Her.

To: MrsEmmaPeel
Personally, I always thought Rush an incurable romantic. Most men these days will dine a woman and try to sleep with her almost immediately. I suspect that Rush is that rare breed of man that equates sex with marriage and not with reckless recreation.

Good observation. Also, I think Rush is a very shy guy who obviously has had some major problems that his wife may not have been able to deal with. He might want to think about moving closer to family and friends, but he seems to love it in Fla.

Recovery from addiction is rough, but sometimes recovery calls for tough decisions to made in one's life. Rush said he discovered many things about himself in recovery, perhaps this is the best for both Rush and Marta. Prayers to both of them. They are still young and have many years ahead of them that can be what they each make of them.

At least only the cats are involved.

I thank God for putting a guy like Rush in my life. He's been good for America. As we all know, mistakes are made. The world is about accepting change and making the very best of it.

Good Luck Rush and Marta.

"Last I heard she was a health nut and exercise nut."

I am certain that Marta was responsible for slimming Rush down. She hired a cook who made low-carb (I think that was the approach) meals and made sure that Rush stuck to the regimen. So, he does owe her a debt.

One thing about being married to a man with a career like Rush's is that you have to be prepared to be a true caretaker. You have to meet his needs and create an atmosphere that allows him to relax in his private life, take care of his wardrobe and his other possessions, make sure that he is surrounded by the things he likes (favorite brands of items, etc), and provide activities he likes to do in his time off. You also have to keep yourself looking nice so you can socialize with his friends and make the occasional appearance with him. It's a calling, of sorts, and it takes real dedication.

Perhaps it's not something a lot of women want to do with their lives.

Perhaps it's not something a lot of women want to do with their lives.

53. Did you read the post that said
"Sorry to hear this, it's going to cost him a bundle." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Even the freepers aren't fooled by what this woman was after in marrying Limbaugh. And let's just pretend for a moment that Rush and Marta genuinely loved each other at one time. This is all the freepers can think of to express their sadness? It's going to cost him a fortune? Rush, no matter how black things get for ya, you'll always have a legion of soulless, brain-dead fans to worry about your pocketbook. So cheer up! You and your fans are a match made in hell!

Actually it's a moral crisis and a legal crisis that go hand in hand. There is no doubt that the no-fault laws are a big part of the problem. So is the indifference to divorce of most churches. So is the social acceptance of living in sin. So is the attempt to redefine marriage as any legally sanctioned relationship between two (at least for the time being) humans (at least for the time being).
Elegant response. I agree with the above -- and admit I have been guilty of "living in sin" and divorcing a perfectly sound man for no good reason. I was young and stupid and arrogant. I have since come to think the bible's moral laws are as immutable as the earth's physical laws. One may not like the law of gravity, but one doesn't ignore it and take a handy short-cut by jumping off a building, because the consequences are immutable. Arrogance can lead one to think the bible's moral laws are arbitrary; they are not. When we -- enabled by our society as a whole -- ignore moral laws such as marriage, the consequences are not as immediate as the law of gravity, but they are as profound.

Morality, in marriage when it comes to scripture is unconditional reconcilliation. Scripturally, divoce is only permissible by adultry and a non-beliver leaving a believer. Scripturally, it says God hates divorce. I would hate to be on the side of something God hates or the initiator of the action.
That being said, I don't know Rush's walk or lack thereof with his maker. We are lead to believe that he does have some sort of belief system that promotes family values. This action, sadly reflects poorly on his ability to keep family value commitments.

I'm sure part of the nuptial agreement included a non-disclosure article as well as any divorce agreement. Even if she wasn't a woman scorned, I bet she could tell some tales that would make even the biggest fan cringe.

66. Not just a Sinatra song...
note the delicious irony of a bunch of mouth-breathing homophobes, mourning their homophobe hero (possibly a modern day closet case like Roy Cohn) by quoting a song written by a man (Peter Allen) who was queerer than a $3 bill.

"Rush Limbaugh is “The Passion”

Make no mistake. Rush Limbaugh is “The Passion.” He is the passion of conservatism, the very pulse, bounding through the veins of the nation. He produces life with every heartbeat of his show as he scoffs at liberals and gives us his interpretation of conservative truth. His brand of ideology shakes the very foundations of liberalism.

He follows in the footsteps of giants, such as George Washington, Thomas Paine, and Ronald Reagan, promoting the ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He broadcasts affectionately trying to steer growing government towards the ideals of the Constitution.

He believes that Americans with limited government are better Americans. He believes that Americans shouldn’t murder babies in the womb. He believes that tax cuts are good for the economy. And finally, he believes safe Americans living free are the best Americans of all.

Boldly he pronounces the lies of liberalism and asserting daily doses of truth. With resounding conviction, he echoes the sentiments of the Founding Fathers, evoking the wrath of those who oppose him. “The Passion.” His passion forces him to carry the torch of liberty and justice, inflicting backlash, lies, and corruption at his doorstep. The compassionate liberals, those that believe in fair play and equal justice, will do almost anything to berate him.

I can see Raygun but not those two (especially Paine).

I swear the Freepers have no idea about the definitions of Liberal and Conservative.

71. I JUST GOT THAT TIE AS A WEDDING PRESENT!!!
It was from the nephew of one of my heroes growing up- the blues singer Junior Wells- and he was known for wearing colorful suits on the bandstand- I was touched when he gave it to me two weeks ago even though I envisioned matching it to clothes to be a chore- I recently looked at the label and almost pooped- it's from a line of Rush clothing! See the shawl? I have a matching hanky. I knew Junior in the 90's and he was no bitter winger- and as a petit dark-skinned guy he could wear flashy colors and not look like he just went on vacation but now I'm ambivalent about the tie. My uncle gave me some cufflinks fom Oliver Cromwe__ that would have matched perfectly too.

'His brand of ideology shakes the very foundations of liberalism.'

When it turned out that he was such a huge drug abusing hypocrite, he sure shaked the liberal world. Always knew he was a lying moron, but to own himself that badly is surprising even for the rest of the world.
