Time: Bush Wants To Spend Next 4 Years As The "Peace President"
<snip>

Meeting with French President Chirac last weekend, President Bush tried hard to keep smiling. Even during a joint press conference in which the two aired their differences on Iraq (Chirac voicing concern about the "degree of chaos prevailing" in the country), Bush tried to emphasize their common goals. The visit was not just an attempt to mend the rupture between the two countries over the war but also an important step in Bush's monthlong effort to show that he is an enthusiastic member of the international community. This week he will be host of the leading economic countries in Sea Island, Ga., and he will attend the NATO summit in three weeks in Istanbul.

Indeed, the President is privately telling aides that after leading the nation to war in his first term, he wants to spend his next four years being "a peace President." Officials in the Administration contend he has more credibility as a diplomat now that he has shown a willingness to use force to back his principles. "The reason diplomacy will be effective in a second term is because of the use of the military," says a senior Administration official. Doubters suspect the shift is aimed at coaxing other nations to help rescue his failing Iraq policy — and to present a less warlike face to voters. Bush campaign advisers concede as much. "It may help overseas, yes," says a top Bush campaign adviser, "but if nothing else, it gives us ammunition to push back against Kerry."

3. Bush knows as much about peace...
... as Attila the Hun knows of diplomacy.

This man, or his minions, have a couple of more wars planned for his next term.

Bush is a fascist. Trust in that view. It will be proven right if he wins in November.

How convenient. The war he started has lost popularity, and less than 5 months before the election, he claims he wants to be "a peace President."

The Bush Admin. say it rained when it was dry.

If Bush says he wants peace, it means he wants four more wars.

...he now has no diplomatic credibility.

The pentagon is pinned in a submission lock. His foreign policy went for broke and is still being put to the test. We could be challenged successfully anywhere else. East asian policy is drifting out of our control because of chimp's misallocation of national resources to support the Iraq experiment in aggression.

The power grab in the middle east isn't over.

15. You Don't Get Off So Easily, Chickenhawk!
What in your most deluded dreams makes you think you can escape the trap you laid for yourself? Iraq is a quagmire of your own making, and Afghanistan is going none too well either. In the meantime, you've recruited thousands of hard-core militants - with nothing left to lose - to the cause you've been demonizing these past three years. Another four years of your sorry ass in office would ensure flareups in places you've never heard of - and could never hope to pronounce. This isn't the National Guard, after all; you can't just shuffle off to Buffalo and leave the dirty work to your 'social inferiors.'

Your feet are held to the fire for the duration of your single term in office. Any overtures toward peace would be met with cynicism and incredulity. We know your neoconservative masters demand nothing less than eternal warfare; new conflagrations would await the world. Too many people have awoken from their slumber for that to happen, however. You'll be sent back to Dim Son Ranch, where you can indulge your passion: clearing brush. Try not to screw that up, too.

Peace to Bush means war.

"Clear skies" means more pollution.

"Healthy forests" means clear cutting.

This is a real quote from Bush:

"When we're talking about war, we're really talking about peace."

Listen here:

http://www.kaicurryservices.com/peacecandy/gwbush/dishonestdubya/

He really has more wars lined up for after his re(S)election.

Word from an insider in the State Department is that either N. Korea or Iran are next if you can believe that.

N. Korea will be a complete slaughter.

Thank god for digital cameras and the internet. This is the one weapon that this misadministration totally misunderstood.

This is the biggest difference between Nazi Germany and Neocon US, within minutes everyone in the world can see the evidence. In Germany, it wasn't until after the war, that the world got to see the images of what was really going on under Hitler.

44. They can't
Our whole society now depends on the internet. You can't do shit without it. Banks would shut down, you couldn't access your money, gas stations and anyone who uses POP systems would be tough out of luck, airplanes couldn't fly....

Fortunately, the geniuses that designed the internet, set up a decentralized system that is extremely reliable.

Welcome to the age of Aquarius, they can't stop us now.

What if......they confiscated everyone's computer? Except those who support the regime? Tear out phone lines and cable? I guess that's where "Underground" comes in, eh? I can see that happening. I'm sure they have a list of names of every DU member. I could see this regime doing that. I can see them gathering names of every Liberal in the U.S. and sending out the Gestapo to confiscate computers from the opposition. That would be how they control it. Just a thought. :(

48. Why are the sources always so afraid of being named?
The "reporter" for Time Magazine quotes senior Bush campaign staffers and administration officials, but doesn't give the names of the people he's quoting.

What's being quoted won't exactly put the sources' lives in danger, so why can't they be named?

I'm really tired of "the people's representatives" (ha ha ha ha) not being brave enough to show their faces. Are they trolls? Do they have only one large eye in the middle of their forhead, and think we'll gasp at the site of them? (I've seen Shrek I and II, for God's sake, you've softened me up enough already!)

Luce's legacy (of crap).

Oh, and Bush being "the peace president"? Good luck with selling that lemon to the world, Karl.
