If McCain decided to run against Bush again, what % of vote would he get?

If McCain decided to run against Bush again, what % of vote would he get?
In other words, how many Repub would leave Bush to vote for McCain? 25% or more? Now if someone were to spread a "rumor" that Kerry would like McCain on the ticket as his VP, does that make the "25% or more" think twice before voting for Bush, even if it is nothing more than a rumor? How does it affect the Bush regime in their strategy? Could they keep all those voters "if" McCain were to run. Personally, I think McCain, two Vietnam war buddies, are just fucking with Bush and Rove's heads... :)

They could not afford to lose that many Repubs...it ain't gonna happen but it must make them very nervous...:)

2. He'd get as many votes from Bush...
...as Nader would get from Kerry. Both sides realize that this is a very close election and will stick with the man who has the best chance of winning.
