Michael Moore wants to do a film about Tony Blair.
Now Michael Moore wants to target Tony Blair. The movie ought to be a hit in Britain if it is released.

1. Ever since Blair got chummy with Bush...
I have lost a great deal of respect for the man.

3. Blair puzzles me period.
How this man joined what was traditionally a left-leaning party and got to where he was. I heard that Tony Blair's father was a Tory. Is this true? His policies are nothing more than Thatcher-Tory Lite. It is also crazy that he would buddy up with a right-wing zealot like Bush.

7. When Blair Came To Office
The Labour Party had been out of power for some time. Blair was looked upon as their "Clinton" and he did lead Labour to victory. He might have cozied up to Bush and the USA to provide a balance to the EU.

8. Yes, his father was a Tory
He wanted to be a Tory MP, but had a stroke which affected his speaking too much. But that doesn't necessarily mean too much.

There was a documentary on Blair on UK TV last night. He was a bit of a rebel at (private) school, but not political. His mother died right after he graduated from Oxford, and then he started to 'have a mission'. He was good at appealing to all kinds of people - when he was first a Labour candidate, Michael Foot, the leader (quite left for Labour) thought he was on the left of Labour too, while Roy Hattersley, the centralist deputy leader, thought he was on his wing of the party. Ironically Hattersley now writes columns saying Blair is too far to the right.

He has done some left wing things, but his guiding principle seems to be "you can't get anything done if you're not in power". This means he defers to the wishes of the right wing tabloid papers like the Sun and Mail (though they still hate him), even though the size of his election victories indicate he could have been far more left wing and still won.

I think his foreign policy has followed the same course - he can't contemplate not cooperating with the most powerful country. He really does think he did the right thing in Iraq - he thinks they've liberated the place. His powers of persuasion seem to include self-delusion - more than any of Bush's regime, he still thinks they're going to find WMD.

Google test:
"Kerry is delusional" + "Kerry delusional" 16 + 6 hits
"Bush is delusional" + "Bush delusional" 115 + 124 hits
"Blair is delusional" + "Blair delusional" 101 +166 hits
Yeah, I know, it's not exactly scientific. But David Kay did actually say that anyone expecting WMDs to be found now was 'delusional'.

Sorry to Scare You, Tony: Michael Moore Was Just Joking
Some news organizations are reporting that Michael is making a new film on Tony Blair. This is not true. Let us repeat - THIS IS NOT TRUE. Michael made a joke about his next film being about Tony Blair in an interview and, apparently, it was taken seriously.

9. Tony Blair needs to be taken to task...
but this film will only be a boon to the conservative party of Britian. It could have bad results in the long run.
