Kerry, Bush reopen election hostilities after Reagan mourning
WASHINGTON (AFP) - The US presidential election battle is to reopen Monday, after a weeklong ceasefire during mourning for ex-president Ronald Reagan (news - web sites).

Democratic contender John Kerry (news - web sites) is to give a major speech on the economy in New Jersey state, hoping the campaign hiatus will not hurt his lead over President George W. Bush (news - web sites) in the polls.

The Massachusetts senator held a seven-point lead over Bush in a Los Angeles Times poll published Thursday. Kerry led Bush 51 to 44 percent.

2. I wish he'd pick a running mate so that person could be supporting
John as well. Kerry should also push for a debate, show how scared Bush is. Let's start talking about the issues. By the way, what happened to the Enron tape story?
