You have to figure that just about everybody there is already pretty politically aware, but still.....
And you'd have to figure that they fall on the progressive end of the spectrum.
We have only one in our area, but I'm going to call the theatre and see if I could man a table there.

1. Would the theaters allow it?
I'm not sure how many theaters will be all that excited to have too much politics interjected into their business place. Yeah F911 is political but I think they're looking at it from a profit standpoint over anything else.

Just a thought.

2. I think that would rub a lot of people the wrong way
Just imagine if you were leaving a movie with a conservative agenda and there were young republicans waiting outside at a booth! It would seem really crass.

3. Just be thankful you've found a theatre that's showing it
Considering the intricate dance required to distribute the film in the USA, I would be very careful about anything that could "disturb the peace" in the theatre queues. Theatres are private property, and managers may be skeptical enough of showing the film, let alone openly encouraging activism.

4. Why not?
According to state law here, one is not allowed to be anything but bipartisan while registering voters. It would seem to me, though, that those attending the movie would either a) be very receptive to the opportunity to register after viewing it (if they hadn't done so already,) or b) cheering you on.

I sent Michael Moore an e-mail three weeks ago promising to register voters at "Fahrenheit 9/11" showings if I was permitted to do so. I have already contacted the local theater showing it to secure permission. The worst thing they can tell me, you, or anyone else is "no".

Revolutionary. Might get something started there. Are you sure you aren't trying to bring down the government by encouraging VOTING?
