1, 2, 3, who are we fighting for?
Us, the people, call your Reps today. Last Tuesday this administration held themselves in CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS and violated our CONSTITUTION. This is not a partisan matter. It is plain and simple and goes way beyond a blue dress. If we can impeach a president for lying about an affair with an intern that he lied about to protect his family, can't we please do something about lying to take this country to war and have thousands dead?

Can't we demand that our Congressmen and women do their jobs and hold this adminsitration accountable, are we really going to just stand by and wait for November? I'm at a loss.........

Concerned Parent, .....????

on edit, this thread was not about Saddam, or Iraq, it is about Ashcroft and his testimony in front of the judiciary committee last Tuesday when he held himself to be in CONTEMPT OF CONGRESS AND VIOLATED OUR CONSTITUTION. Want to post about that or do you want to think about it, review it and maybe make a few phone calls. I'm tired of criminals running our country, how about you?

6. Jeez, chill, Anarchy.
First, yes--you're right in your call for action. This is the time. We can feel the groundswell building.

Second,, with your "1 2 3 What are we fighting for?" you quoted the first line of a war protest song by Country Joe & the Fish, the next line of which is "Don't ask me, I don't give a damn; my next stop is Vietnam."

Country Joe revised the song in 2001, replacing "Vietnam" with "Afghanistan," and concernedparent continued the evolution by putting in a reference to Saddam. CP was NOT just saying "I don't give a damn;" s/he was sardonically agreeing with you, playing off the song lyrics.

7. You are right, I do need to take a chill pill, have any?

I missed it. Very sensitive, being attacked by www.protestwarrior.com and rightwing hate radio in Dallas because we have been holding a weekly protest in front of Halliburton in North Dallas since 4/15 and these nice bunch of guys got physical last Friday and I'm having to deal with it today and fix it for Friday coming up.
I think the Ronnie thing all last week long got the best of me.
Sorry.

On edit:

And then there is that major issue of CONTEMPT, I just can't get past that one. Do we really have to do IRAN-CONTRA all over again? I knew it when Bush showed us his appointments in December of 2000, I just never thought it would be this bad or they would be this blatant or the American public would be this stupid.

8. Demand a refund on your taxes!
The tax dollars are to be spent for what we the people see fit! We need to get what we pay for and that is representation! Congress seldom if ever represents the will of the people anymore, since the repigs took both houses over! Congress only represents the will of the CEOs now and the Constitution don't say a word about CEOs ruling the country!

Congress swears to uphold the Constitution while in office, so they are in contempt of we the people! They forget that they work for you and me and that we pay for everything!
