8. back in the late 60s-early 70s
I spent several summers in Phoenix playing baseball. It was hot! But I didn't remember the "Phoenicians" part. Makes sense. I also don't remember any need for boats. Do you get monsoons?

don't you think? I'm waiting for it.... This humidity is gross. It's not as bad as Chicago's, but then, the temps aren't as hot either. What part of town are you in? I'm way East, in the armpit known as East Mesa.

3. Yeah, we had some rain last night, but not enough.
I live in Scottsdale, and right now I'm watching the dark skies east of me. I love to watch the monsoons roll into town.

And Scottsdale is now not so quaint anymore, it has grown too big and the government officials have let the older parts of Scottsdale grow in neglect. :hi:

9. Hi, MoonAndSun! Too bad about Scottsdale....but this was almost
40 years ago! I was at my computer when it happened and all it affected us in upper State New York was our internet went out for 3 hours! But as you probably saw on TV ...New York City really got it and Toronto, too! And ol bush keeps on fundraising..
