is hannity being preened to replace Limbaugh?

considering Rush's age, obesity, legal problems, extreme wealth, and drug addictions, are the winguts looking for a new posterboy to replace him, someone who can be more convincing to the masses, maybe? and if so, is Sean Hannity their top draft pick? it seems to me that 2 or 3 years ago, i hadn't even heard of him that much, and now he's everywhere. what do you all think?

But one question you have to ask yourself is "who" is doing the preening? Or is Hannity just trying hard to promote himself and become the next Limbaugh? I mean there's nobody else really on the horizon that could really do well compared to Rush, and Hannity is a young guy.

3. I can't stand Hannity's views , but....

... his radio show is good - he's actually very humble (or plays at it well), and knows how to involve his callers very well, and is constantly thanking them. On the other hand, his ideological approach has no subtlety whatsoever - Limbaugh is far more clever, satirical, and less mechanistic, and I think that's what draws a lot of people in to his show. I may sometimes nod my head when Limbaugh speaks - never when Hannity does.

I understand his ratings have started to approach oxyboy's. Put him in that time slot and he may do better. Limbaugh hasn't been much other than a broken record with a following for some time. Hannity at least puts the other side on the air.

If it's Hannity, it's the same drivel in a dumber, less humorous, less entertaining package that isn't nearly as skilled at arguing. I don't think much of Limbaugh, but Hannity's so many steps below him that I'm not sure I can quantify it.

17. I'd certainly say so. He got a big boost in stations and

syndication right around the time limbaugh disappeared for his ear trouble. All of a sudden, you started hearing about sean hannity all over the place. I think they were positioning him in case rush didn't get his hearing back. But he did. So poor widdle sean has to take a back seat for awhile. But MAN are they puffing him. He's like an inflatable doll, almost. And they also love to talk about how good-looking he supposedly is. I read a profile of him in "Talkers" magazine (an industry trade for talk radio people/stations) that sounded like the person writing it was a hybrid of Peggy Noonan and Monica Lewinsky. I couldn't get all the way through it before becoming almost physically ill. Especially since the writer was male.
