So Scalia does know how to recuse himself afterall...
He chose to recuse himself on the pledge issue saying he had recently spoken to some group and expressed a personal opinion on the issue. Sounds like the right thing to do.

But, the same Supreme can go hunting with crashcart and say he's not biased? Well who knows if he talked about executive priviledge and energy on the hunting trip? And if he divulged a personal opinion on the issue?

He's a scumbag. It totally pisses me off that the media is ignoring this issue.

8. No, He Did It
Because he knew it would go the way he wanted it to. Whether it got tossed on a technicality or not, the Supreme Court would've kept "under God" in the pledge no matter what.

So he can safely recuse himself on this one, knowing that it will go his way. He doesn't recuse himself on the Cheney matter because he doesn't want to take any chances. He's an asshat.

2. He knew ...
... that it would be thrown out on a technicality. If they were actually VOTING on it, he wouldn't recuse himself!!!!

BTW, having an opinion on an issue does NOT make one unable to be objective. Having interfering arrangements ... DOES!!!!

A lesson here is that high court members should NOT get too chummy with people in the executive branch.
