So what exactly is transfer of sovereignty
It is still Bu$h all the way. Where does he think he gets a bounce in the polls for June 30? WTF will be different.

U.S. says it will continue to hold thousands of Iraqi prisoners after June 30
But Lieut.-Col. Barry Johnson says the Americans will continue to hold between 4,000 and 5,000 prisoners deemed to be a threat to the coalition. He says the U.S. command will also continue operating the Abu Ghraib prison, which is at the centre of the prisoner abuse scandal.

1. Just "Mission Accomplished II : Electric Boogaloo",
Its Mission Accomplished the Sequel. A huge farce, charade to order to qualm Americans' fears. In actuality its just a shifting of puppets.

3. What it's not:
Freely elected leaders.

Control over military force in the country.

Control over all prisoners.

Control over government ministries (coalition-created "commissions" have been put in place to make decisions for ministries).

Ability to prevent 100% foreign ownership of Iraqi enterprise.

Ability to prevent 100% of profit from being expatriated by foreign owners.

I'm pretty sure free speech, control over natural resources, and a free press are also NOT part of 21st Century Bush Brand Partial "Sovereignty."

6. It's political window dressing, and a way for Bush to avoid any
responsibility for providing security and basic services for the people living in the country he just destroyed.

They love the idea of Iraqi garbage men having full sovereignty over Iraqi garbage. Or Iraqi policemen having full sovereignty over Iraqi crime. Or Iraqi hospitals have full sovereignty over Iraqi health problems.

But there's no free press. There's no independent government. The oil resources sure as hell aren't going to be under the control of Iraqis. The US is remaining in the country.

It's bullshit.
