The International Good Will That George W. Wasted

Here is an interesting report issued one month after September 11, 2001 that lists all of the commitments to support that nations around the world offered to the U.S. in the wake of September 11th.

At the time, there was publicity that the NATO treaty was invoked. The NATO treaty says that an attack against one is an attack against all. In addition, at the same time, the similar ANZAC treaties were invoked by Australia and New Zealand the similar Rio Treaty was invoked by many South American nations. Does anyone remember that there were German Air Force crews protecting the coasts of the U.S. with several NATO airborne radar planes?

All that good will (including in the Arab World) in the fight against terrorism was wasted by the useless invasion of Iraq. Now we are internationally isolated, dis-respected and feared.
