Should Paul Krugman replace Alan Greenspan as head of the Fed ?
He has been the most credible economist for the last half-dozen years. Greenspan has not been very impressive, preaching his supply -side taxcuts, etc. I think it's time fo him to go and Krugman is as good a person as anyone to take his place...

1. No way, that would politicize the position even more.
Krugman has to much history as a partisan to ever get that job, with good reason.

4. I'd rather see him in working in the Kerry Administration
The Fed sets monetary policy but not economic policy which is what needs the most work.

7. No. Krugman is way too political.
Hopefully he'll get a spot in Kerry's administration.

8. Greenspan has wrecked the economy for the non-rich -- he needs to go
I don't know if Krugman would be the solution, but a good old-fashioned Keynesian would be a welcome change from the monitorist/supply-siders that BOTH parties have supported.

Hell, I'd take higher interest rates at the expense of larger salaries for workers. Who needs easy credit when you make enough money to not only survive, but to save up for a better future?

No. We need Krugman where he is.

Select another economist to replace Greenspan.
