Unless Kerry Gets Off His Ass And Lights A Fire
Under the asses of the voters he is going to loose in a landslide. Where on earth has he been, where is the coverage, is the man on vacation? The most important election in the history of this country, and maybe the last, is just months away and he seems to have simply disappeared.

I have been saying 60/40 for months, but now I'm not too sure that it might not just go to the chimp. If Kerry, and his supporters, don't get off their collective asses and start making noise it will go to Bush, you can bet on it.

Kerry should have his surrogates' feet on Chimp's neck, pressing hard.

27. The troops are getting in place
We now have an official state coordinator in Florida, and all of the county organizations are being set up.

Bush is in Tampa today, for a private "wrapping himself in the flag" gathering at MacDill AFB. But yesterday we had a counter-bush gathering with Max Cleland and his Band of Brothers.

The media coverage sucks, but it should pick up after he picks a VP. There were plenty of TV cameras there, but I didn't see any coverage on the news yesterday.

3. "loose in a landslide"
You do realize that November is still more than 4 months away, don't you? And people are plenty motivated to vote against Bush. Yeah, Kerry might need to "gear up", but before Iowa, pundits were saying he should just fold up his run. I don't think there's a risk of "loosing in a landslide", unless the looser is Bush.

5. Being against Bush is not enough
I saw a car with a "Bush sucks" sign on it yesterday. I thought to myself...no matter how much an individual hates Bush that individual still only gets to cast one vote. I fear that are not enough Bush haters out there.

10. Nonsense...
...the GOP learned this lesson well, and so should we. All those who hate Bush will most certainly NOT vote for him. Encourage Republicans that are uneasy about Bush to stay home. Encourage those that hate Bush to vote for Kerry. No, at the levels we are at, hating Bush IS enough. I say this because I'm not Kerry's biggest fan, but I've got the bumper sticker, and he's got my vote.

Drive the base to the polls, drive down turnout on the other side (or let Bush do that for you)...you win. The corpowhore media will seize upon anything Kerry says or does that they can spin pro-Bush. He's wise to step carefully and cautiously.

40. Well, for me, I could walk them...
...but if you live more than a mile or two from your polling place, a car is a good idea. Seriously, I'm not relying on Kerry to do it, it's the people around him, and us, on the street, that are going to determine the outcome of this election. The corpowhore media wouldn't give Kerry a minute of time to be electrifying if he had it in him. We've already lost our democracy, but it's not too late to take it back. Whether it's just or not, the only way to start down that road is by seeing to it that Kerry is the next President. The day after he's sworn in, I'll likely be bitching about him, but I'm fairly certain death will be slower and less painful, and I can work from there...

21. Remember, though, Kerry hasn't even picked his VP yet. . .
For Bush to have bad poll numbers at this stage cannot be a good sign for him.

The real political skirmishes have not yet been fought, either.

BTW, welcome to DU :toast:

7. Take a deep breath
1) Kerry is out there every day. One of my friends watched him speak to a large crowd in Ohio last night. It's just that the media doesn't play him as much. Bush says one word and Faux, CNN, et all trip all over themselves to play it. The media doesn't care when Kerry speaks unless it's something controversial. Just because you don't see him on the cable news, that doesn't mean he's not out there pounding the pavement every fucking day, because he is.

2) He's raising money. For the second straight month in a row, he has raised MORE money that Bush. That will be important in the final months for advertising, etc.

3) The news cycles lately (other than Gipperporn) are all mostly NEGATIVE for Bush. Why interrupt a negative news cycle for Bush with a statement on this or that? Bush is killing himself. Let him.

4) Kerry is ahead in the polls, possibly by as much at 7 points.

5) His running mate hasn't even been announced yet. Just wait until that happens and the news coverage will change.

6) The convention... tons of coverage.

7) It's June. Chill out. It will be ok. :toast:

13. The Problem is . . .
that mainstream media REFUSES to cover ANY of Kerry's speeches. Kerry gave a wonderful speech yesterday in Atlantic City and if you did not turn to C-SPAN, you missed it!

Kerry does not have the amount of money Shrub has. He is saving it for later in the campaign when it really counts.

16. you are kidding, right? "Loose in a landslide" BWAHAHAHAHA
Are you following the news?

Bush is his own worst enemy. And his little Dick, too. Just his recent claim (again) that Iraq has ties to Al-Qaida showed how they are willing to lie:

Cheney Claims al-Qaida Linked to Saddam:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040615/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cheney_terrorism_4

ORLANDO, Fla. - Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) said Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) had "long-established ties" with al Qaida, an assertion that has been repeatedly challenged by some policy experts and lawmakers...
<snip>

and how about the last paragraph of this article:

The State Department said last week it was wrong in stating that terrorism declined worldwide last year in a report that the Bush administration initially cited as evidence it was succeeding against terrorism, Graham noted. Both the number of incidents and the toll in victims increased sharply, the department acknowledged.

I see no reason to panic.

17. Bleed To Death
Anyone who honestly thinks that it makes sense to sit back, let Bush shoot himself in the foot and bleed to death, is contributing to the chimp winning the next election.

Get out there and support our party's presumptive candidate, do it today, do it tomorrow, do it next week, and do it next month.

And yes, I do know that the election is still a full 4 months away, but having reached the right old age of 60 I also know how woefully short a period of time 4 months is.

Wait until the convention, and after that I think we are going to be inundated with ads and coverage.

The mainstream media doesn't want to waste its time on him until he's chosen a running mate and all the players are in place.

Relax.

so easy to point finger to kerry adn say, you arent enough. no one can will hear you

the media portrays what you think kerry needs. and what you are saying, is what the media made, and what the media want you to say.

If Kerry was on TV every day piling on with criticism of Iraq and the economy and the environment and the...well, you get the idea...he would seem like he was running a negative campaign and people would get sick of it quickly. As it is, he is letting others carry the water in criticism for the time being.

Check your news coverage, every day there is coverage about another issue that Bush is assing up. You can't get better than that with any amount of advertising.

Let Kerry save his money for when it will matter.
